For me, I can eat bananas on regular basis and it eases tremendously. I am thinking low potassium… I do take a diuretic also, so that pulls a lot from your body.

This just started 2 months ago for me. I was in the hospital for hip surgery. Six weeks ago I was checked for a UTI and they said I had a pseudomonas aeruginosa infection, likely from the catheter. I had to be hospitalized for a 12 hour IV antibiotic. I had another culture 2 weeks ago and it's clean, but the symptoms are still present. It's like an electric wave that starts at my shoulders about 3 sec after I start peeing. It moves through my arms, into my hands and out to the fingertips. The urine also stings my labia. I'm a 67 yr old female who rarely had a UTI. I have a urologist appt in 3 weeks.

I have had this happen mainly when I have a UTI as well.. It feels like it starts in the palm of my hands by my thumbs and progresses into my index fingers. SUPER uncomfortable. My doctors also looked at me like I'd lost my mind. I also have issues with neuropathy after a couple of spine surgeries and some incontinence associated with that. Hope you can find some answers too!

Hello.

Pain in the palm while urinating is not a common symptom, but it may be related to nerve irritation or compression. This can occur due to a variety of reasons, including a pinched nerve in the neck or wrist, carpal tunnel syndrome, or nerve damage caused by diabetes or other medical conditions.

Given your age and medical history of bypass surgery, it is important to consider the possibility of cardiovascular issues. Pain in the palm can sometimes be a referred pain from a cardiac issue, although this is not the most common explanation for this symptom.

It is recommended that you schedule an appointment with your healthcare provider to discuss your symptoms and undergo a physical examination. They may also recommend additional tests, such as blood tests or imaging studies, to help determine the underlying cause of your pain.

In the meantime, you can try some self-care measures to alleviate the pain, such as avoiding activities that exacerbate the symptoms, wearing a wrist brace to keep the hand in a neutral position, and using over-the-counter pain medications like acetaminophen or ibuprofen. However, it is important to consult with your healthcare provider before starting any new medication.

When did you have your surgery?

When I have a UTI, my first symptom is horrible pain in both wrists during urination, which stop immediately when I am done urinating. I have only had 3 UTI's in my life. Does this sound fammilar to others? My GP looked at me strangely when I told him. I am a retired RN. Is there a Dx for this condition?

I experience this dull ache in my right hand if I wait a bit to go to the bathroom. I have had this for years. I just thought it was something with my nerves.

46, been having this problem for years. It's like a wave of slightly intense pain in my hands for about 15 seconds. Then it's gone. But I feel a residual pain linger after for a few seconds. No answers, no explanations

I am 81 and just started having this problem, soon as I begin peeing both palms hurt a lot. I've read many of the replies and I can see that some people have been experiencing this for 5 years or more and it appears that no doctor has any idea what should be done for it, that doesn't surprise me, If there is not a pill to treat it, they don't have any idea what to do about it. I think I'll get a couple quarts of cranberry juice and hope that it helps.
