I have a lump above my right eye brow too, I don't remember having trauma there and people are asking me what is that bump on your forehead, it makes me very insecure, and it feels like bone. I've had it for about a year now, and it is probably why the girls don't want to date me. I want to know if it is permanent or nothing to worry about.

Hi, my 9 months old grand son has a 2 months history of a hard mass of the frontal bone in its mid portion. No discoloration, no tenderness and ? no history of trauma...

What do we need to do to find out if treatment is necessary?

I just found a lump on my left forehead right on the hair line. Its been there that I have noticed for a few days, it seems to get a little bigger each day but I also poke at it. Its deffiently not a pimple and the pain is very little. I have never noticed it before, from what I am reading it could be something to do with the Lymp nodes. Has anyone had something like this before and could give me some advise on what to do?

Thought I would join the croud of people who are chiming in on having a small (penny size) bump located just above my right eyebrow.  Very few people reconize it so I haven't spent any money seeing doctors about it.  A cat scan can cost $1000 and usually tells you what you already know - there is a small growth  attached to your bone and if it bothers you  you can pay $2000 to $4000 (I am guessing) to have it removed.  I have decided I would rather keep the money than have it removed at this point.  If it gets any bigger then then I'll have it removed. I have just noticed it about 8 months ago and have seen little to no growth in it so far.  I have absolutely no pain.  I am interested in what other find out about this type of bump.

I first noticed it in 2011 then it was tiny swelling over my forehead above my left eye since then it has grown a little bit more. I went to doctor and he discarded it as nothing serious and it can only be surgically removed. I read about this thing in internet but not able to exactly figure out what it is. When I hear music for long my left ear starts paining and when I watch televison or laptop my left eye starts paining. I feel its because of that lump grown over my upper left of forehead.  Also there is a constant pain in my brain region between my left ear and left eye. Is this connected to this lump? Another issue is that it has grown to that extent that it is visible to others easily and they point out to me "Hey! whats that over your forehead?". Also when I have a photograph if me it is clearly seen in the picture. It is really annoying.  Please someone tell me what to do. I have hear people say that the lump may regrow if you surgically remove it. I have also read in wikipedia sometime if a doctor is not able to remove the lump entirely then some of the parts of lump grow over the region and I dont want that to happen. I am not ready to have this over my head for my entire life...it doesn't look good.. ;(

A bump can be caused by lots of different things.  One thing that you should be aware of is an osteoma.  This is basically a growth of bone ontop of another bone, or also referred to sometimes as calcified bumps caused by an injury long ago that you might not even remember.  Both are not uncommon, both are immobile and solid, both are permanent.  The only way to get rid of these is by surgery.  Depending on the bump's location and your surgeon, it may leave a scar from incision, or you could have an inciwion at your hairline so it is less noticable but costs more.  I have heard of this surgery costing anywhere from $500-$3000 so I cannot give a very exact price sadly, but I wish you all the best of luck.  Remember it may not be this, but from personal experience it most likely is a forehead osteoma if you have had a past injury.

WOW !!! I have same thing I asked my Dr she felt it and said it was bone, She asked if I had ever been hit their hard or fallen in the past. Ive been hit in head many times as I was a fighter. but the only thing I remember was playing tug a with with my dog and a 2x4 like 28 years ago. Well she let it go and I cracked myself In head so hard I saw stars. She had said that a hairline fracture of head can leave a spur and grow but not to worry about oy . I have had at scans and my head is normal... yea more like abby normall
