Hi I also suffer from pain in the upper right side that goes to left side for 7 months now. I had a ct, ultrasound, hidascan, stress test & blood work which all have come out negative. The only thing they saw was an liver hemangeoma 3.5 cm. The doctor said it should not cause pain. If it's not the liver hemangioma than what else can it be?? Before that I did 150 crunches per day so I don't know?? I see the liver specialist next month. Meanwhile this pain is annoying & it's constant!!

I haven't had any surgery as of yet. I see the liver specialist next month. Do you also have constant pain?? Or does it come & go?? My primary dr. Said since all my test are negative that it may be musculoskeletal from my upper abdominal wall. The general surgery dr. Said to put the liver hemangeoma out of my mind, that it should not cause pain. Is your liver hemangeoma the same size also? Another problem I have is that movement is affected by this constant pain. I can't even exercise without having severe pain.

I too have symptoms with a liver hemangioma.  Six years ago, a CT scan revealed both a 4.3 cm and a 2.8 cm masses.  A week ago, another CT scan showed no change.  But what I am experiencing is an increase in symptoms.  These little rascals are “poking” at my insides just outside my right ribcage.  It has gotten so bad that when I bend down to tie my right shoe, I can clearly feel them.  Again, everything I read says that they are asymptomatic.  This doesn’t make me feel any better.  I have to see a liver specialist next week.  I hope to find out from him if these hemangiomas are the source of my discomfort.

I also have diagnosed with a liver hemangioma (found when doing MRI for my bad back/hip). I have been having dizzy spells, very itchy skin, nauseous, high BP, very tired, tar-like stool (usually black in color but sometimes very white). They removed my gallbladder 2 yrs ago but still have pain under right rib (80% of time), also tea-colored urine, and just plain feel bad most of the time. I also have been having seizures for last 10 yrs. Before then I didn't have any & have had NO trauma which would result in late onset seizures. I am 57 yrs old (female).

my red blood cell test neg. still in pain, shortness breathe, pain under right rib cage,in back upper right side,my hemangioma is 4 cm too. upper right lobe liver. these docters all say same thing,we should have no symptoms. its crazy, you know we are right, since all our symptoms are the same. mine didnt hurt until it got to be closer to 4cm. if these docters were in our shoes, they would believe him or her. im going to see if i can get a petscan the one for cancer, ask docter if he can see it better,to get better size est. ive heard 3 diff sizes. id like to be sure. goodluck

I had a ct scan and found 2 hemangiomas. I have been nauseous and randomly throw up and sick to my stomach. I have generally just not felt great for a couple of months and am not sure that this is the cause? I see that your response was over a year ago. Have you had any additional tests or found out any new information? Interestingly, I did have my gall bladder taken out about 5 years ago. I wonder if there is anything to this?
There does not seem to be very much information out there on this.

Hello , I was just wondering if you ever had your hemangioma removed. I have just been diagnosed with multiple hepatic hemangiomas. . .the largest is nearly 6cm. I have experienced mild pains off and on in my right abdomen for about six months and thought it was possibly my gallbladder. I was stunned when they told me that I had five liver masses. My GI dr. is ordering me a gallbladder function test to see if my pains are related to the gallbladder. . . .all of my other tests came back normal. I am only 42 and have two young children. . .my GI just wants to take a wait and see approach with the hemangiomas but the fact that they can rupture makes me anxious.

Hi I was recently diagnosed with multiple hepatic hemangioma, I was just wondering how you are doing now. I have a total of five masses. . . .the largest is nearly 6cm. I have been experiencing pains off and on in my right ribcage since December 2011. They are strong enough to wake me in the middle of the night but not unbearable. . .more of a burning or shooting pain that only lasts a few seconds. I thought it was my gallbladder giving me problems. . .was shocked to hear that I have these masses on my liver.

Hello, I would be grateful to know how you get on. My symptoms are the same as you as I too have several liver hemangiomas. I am currently waiting to have an MRI scan done to see what happens next. All the reviews I have read say that they are benign and I am praying this is the case. I am very worried but know I am not the only one. and I find this forum reallyhelpful.
