there must be something about nj. i got tested last year and my doctor said it came out as positive, but my "levels weren't high enough" so i couldnt get medication for it. obviously there was something wrong because i was constantly tired and not matter what i did, i gained weight. i was at 143lbs, and now i'm at 132lbs, but i still face symptoms and hope that in my next visit i'll be given the medications

Kerry, try eliminating gluten. It can cause or worsen autoimmune diseases. That’s how I do best with the Hashimoto’s.

Aerobic exercise çan actually cause more problems with people with autoimmune disease. It identifies the "excercise" as a stresser and can cause a reverse effect. You will have a negative effect on your thyroid. Slow moderate weight lifting will do the trick

Another Hashimoto's lady here. I'm age 60 and experienced pretty drastic weight gain last year. I am finding that 2 things are helping to lose the weight:
1. limit alcohol to weekends only (I was sipping wine daily...)
2. avoid soy.
