our whole body chemistry has to re write itself to a point, all this sh*t we are feeling, is all the sh*t that was being blocked by the affects of smoking, and the chemicals in them. give your quits some time to regulate in the body. all we can do is give it time, and do as much good as we can for our bodies to help. and to know that some damage has been done, and sometimes nothing more can be done to help, and that nature will take its course.
Thank you. thank you, thank you! I'm struggling. One month today and I feel terrible. Feel like I've got flu, hungry all the time, depressed, bad sinuses, tired all the time. I just needed to hear what you said Thanks, mate! John.
I'm having all the same problems. Confused, short memory issues. Had chest tightness in the first month but it's gone now. I've been quit for over two months but it still is difficult not knowing what I'm doing sometimes. I'm afraid my mind is not going to come back fully but praying it does. Is there anything you did to help it? Vitamins, etc etc. also when did you get your mind back in order?
Hang tight, we all hurt out bodies for YEARS. half-2 packs a day usually.... it will take TIME to cleanse out the sh*t in our systems. give it time. for me after 13 years, im almost to month 5 and im starting to ease up on all my symptoms, about month 4 is where im seeing a pattern of people starting to get over some of the symptoms.
Try orange juice,' fresh ', listen to the hypo give up smoking ….you tube .. it will help
3 1/2 months for me and I also feel worse than I ever did smoking. Dizzy, tired, brain fog,and more. If I had ANY idea I never would have quit. If I thought I could smoke a cigarette and go back to being me again, I would do it even though after I quit I had a TIA mini stroke and then carotid surgery because of clogged carotid. I DO NOT want to take up smoking but I want to feel better. Will all this end? When?
you should try acupuncture and herbal medicine, it promotes self healing and it's non invasive, best of luck
Keep going everyone, Im almost to my first BIG milestone of 6 months! Never imagined I could do it. I find the key for me was to completely stop focusing on the quit and its symptoms. Very very difficult to do. Keep focused on hobbies, family, whatever it takes. and you will notice you don't feel unwell. Then when you begin to think about it again, the symptoms return. It still does for me. About the only odd things still happening with me are a strange tightness in the neck and some heartburn and acid reflux. everything else has completely subsided. Really starting to see the light on the other side. I expect to feel different till about the year mark. And I will lower my get healthy expectations until that time. I will re-evaluate the situation on febuary 24th 2018 and re adjust if need be! Hang tight my dudes!

So glad I found this forum..
I'm 55 and smoked since I was 16... I stopped cold turkey 7 weeks ago, and it has been gruelling.. I never anticipated the adverse physical , emotional, and mental withdrawal issues associated with quitting / ending my nicotine addiction.. Given what I'd heard, I expected improvements in my health upon stopping smoking, but it has been the opposite... Again, I had been a heavy smoker for more than 35 years and expected a long haul to recovery... My withdrawal issues have consisted of panic attacks, depression, dizziness, muscle pain and chronic fatigue..

40 year, pack and a half a day smoker here. I feel the same way. I'm not having breathing or sinus issues, but feel so ill, like stomach flu and memory problems. I am at 3 weeks quit. I was using the nicotine patches and a week ago nausea and diarrhea began along with fever of 99.9-100.9. I thought it was a flare of fibromyalgia at first, but after 5 days straight of feeling very sick and barely being able to get out of bed, I decided to stop using the patch. I had also been using e-cigarettes in zero to low mg nicotine to counter-act the hand to mouth addiction as well. I am still doing the e-cigs and have upped the nicotine a little, but still feeling sick to my stomach, brain fog, depression etc. I smoked half a cigarette yesterday to see if it would clear my head (I too did not want the cigarette, only the cessation of illness symptoms) For three hours after the cigarette my heart was racing and my mind was racing as if I had taken speed. These are the strangest symptoms and results I have ever encountered from quitting smoking!! I'm not sure how much longer I can make it, I have to work!
I'm having the exact same symptoms and I was a pack a week (heavy on weekend) plus weed. I'm about a month in and after 2 weeks of quitting smoking cigarettes, I've had to quit smoking weed as well because it would pretty much kill me. My coughs are dry and still taste metallic... Hope you're doing will now after a year...
You don’t have to be nicotine free to say you quit.
Cigarettes kill.
Nicotine does not.
Not smoking cigs is the best thing you can do
Gave up 6 weeks ago and for the last 3 weeks i have been having dizzy spells and numbness in my hands and face. On bloodpressure pills and others for dizzy spells, dont know how much longer i can do this! cant even drive!!!
