why don't you get a mercury test done. Your mercury count should be
no more that 3. If its high you need to detox with a drug named
DMSA. You also need to go to Cleveland Clinic in Ohio about your
heart problems. They are the best in the Country. Also you need to
find a vascular doc. regarding your stomach. Check for MALS

For people with any kind of stomach problem - acid reflux, spasms, nausea, or even anxiety related issues - I suggest trying a product called Yogi Stomach Ease.  I'm not big on herbal tea or anything like that but this stuff is a miracle for the GI tract.  I have no idea what's in it or how it works but IT DOES and it does within minutes.I used to suffer from massive stomach issues.  I would pretty much be doubled over in pain after eating anything.  I had all tests done and Docs said nothing was wrong besides that I was lactose intolerant (which I knew).  A friend turned me on to Stomach Ease and I've been drinking a cup in the morning and a cup at night for 4 years and haven't had a stomach pain since.

I get it from Amazon.  The health food stores have it to but it's expensive.  Amazon has it for like $18 for 6 boxes.  Theres 16 bags in a box and I have it on monthly order.

When your chest and esophagus spasms, after eating could be a number of things. but who i would make an appointment with would be a Gastroenteroligist! and they will do a upper endoscopy, and if there is a problem they will find it. and if not they then might say you need to see a Cardiloigist. and it could also be a nerve problem that controls the heart, esopfagus,& intestines! are you having any digestion problems? let me explain where food gets stuck and it moves slowly and or trouble swallowing liquid & food?

Best Wishes!

Oh forgot to mention that Gerd is also spasms in the chest, esophagus. do you having burning that comes up from your chest into you're throat? and you have a sudden urge to vomitt? or and certain foods will give you indigestion? that could be "ACCID REFLUX DISEASE"

you'll need to go on a anti-accid, that will work for you! make a appointment to see a "GASTROENTEROLIGIST"

Best Wishes 2 u!

Hi, I know the posts here are old. But, I wanted to share that I had spasms off and on for months -- with no pain -- up and down my esophagus, with dizziness, shortness of breath, and extreme fatigue, plus a feeling of fullness. And, the answer was a magnesium and B12 deficiency. After an endoscope showing nothing was wrong (except acid reflux, which made it all worse) and seeing a heart doctor (nothing wrong there either), I was told to take more Prevacid and an anti-depressant called Pamelor (used also to stop smooth muscle spasms). I did not take more Prevacid and I refused to take an anti-depressant and mess with my brain chemistry (after researching I found this drug can make acid reflux worse and coming off of it, for many is a nightmare) --- so, I just kept researching. I found that any of those Proton Pump Inhibitors, like Prevacid, Nexium, etc... can cause magnesium deficiencies and B12 and folate deficiencies (which probably means potassium def too -- because if you have a magnesium def, you usually have this low too). And then I noticed on the Nexium and Prevacid commercials they even tell us that. So, I started magnesium in liquid form, along with calcium (you must have a ratio of about 2:1 or 1:1 of this CAL/MAG) and Vitamin D (BlueBonnet brand has all three). I also took sub lingual B12 tablets (as good as shots) and a bit of folate acid daily. Within three days -- almost totally gone...all the symptoms! I kid you not. Upon more research, I found that it is not that uncommon for Americans to have Magnesium and B12 deficiencies anyway. Then, add taking an anti-relux medicine to the mix and you have a def. I figured out that because I had gone off the Prevacid after 12 years and tried to do natural things instead, I had acid relux rebound. The acid got worse. Those drugs do that. They can be helpful but are not harmless in the least. I had even weaned myself off, but it still happened. Plus, I do have a somewhat loose sphincter between my stomach and esophagus, so I might not even have excess acid, but must keep it down, so that it does not leak up out of my stomach. Having less stomach acid is not so ideal, as it makes a person more susceptible to food poisoning and it affects the way some things are digested. Like absorbing magnesium and B12. Anyone on these drugs very long, needs to supplement. In my case, I took large doses, then cut down some. I had both levels checked then and I am high now on B12 and can cut down to a tablet a week (the mega dose one.. I think 84,000 times the RDA) and I continue with the magnesium, because my tests show it is still a bit low. That was three months ago, when I started the supplements. (I had the symptoms I mentioned for 5 months prior. I have those symptoms of the fluttering in between my esophagus and stomach now, only when I am extremely nervous or rushed. I relax and they pass. No where near like it was before, where I had to stop everything, because I was so fatigued and out of breath. I have also started using a magnesium oil that I rub onto my skin in different areas daily...leave on 20 minutes, then rinse off and moisturize. This by passes the digestive tract, and having to take as much magnesium, which does cause loose bowels (not bad, unless you take a lot...and, depending on the person). Have your doctor check your B12 and Magnesium levels. And, meanwhile, go to the health food store and get some supplements. It cannot hurt, unless you way over do it. It is best to take the magnesium in citrate form (the Bluebonnet is this) and definitely adding the oil (I use Ancient Minerals, bought online, extracted from ancient seabeds Zechstein, I believe... it would be like swimming in seawater, which is healthy and helps you absorb magnesium). Ask your doctor to test, don't overdo, and merely maintain your supplementation once your levels are up and your symptoms gone. Because way too much B12 and too much magnesium causes the same symptoms! Many doctors will tell you that few people have magnesium defs, but come on... with the food that is processed out there? Many doctors are not trained nutritional-wise enough. And if you are on Prevacid, Nexium, Acidpex or any PPI, you are at a risk for these defs. I found that info in an FDA report. Look up the symptoms of either one of those defs and you will find many symptoms like many of you are having. Long term magnesium def can affect your heart. Magnesium relaxes (don't forget that ratio with calcium, that is very important). Back to me....I found that the esophagus spasms, although painless, would irritate my vagus nerve (that nerve alongside it) and that would make my heart race. That is why so many people think it is heart related when they have spasms. Of course it is also important to eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains, seeds, legumes, berries and grass fed meats (and butter and milk made from pastured, grass fed cows), wild meats if you can get them -- all sources of omega threes, free range eggs. And, forget eating but only very small amounts of anything processed. Forget fast food. And, above all... you will never get rid of these symptoms if you smoke or drink sodas. Give that up. Forget caffeine (I have not had it in 16 years, believe me, life is great without it), and only drink an occasional alcoholic drink if it does not bother you..and, especially only one and with food. Lose weight (that pressure from any weight around a person's middle will make anything esophageal or acid refluxed based --- worse). And, exercise! Also, Yoga or Tai Chi ....both calm a person down. Our brains and guts are very related...so take time to breathe properly (look this up online if you don't know...it is more important than you think), sleep well (go to bed before midnight for proper hormone production) and give yourself enough time to do so, and relax with prayer and meditation daily. Stress makes everything worse and relaxation makes everything better. By the way, I still have to take the Prevacid, unless I want an operation, but I am told that can make a person worse (by my gastro doctor) in many cases. So, I have to make sure I eat very well, never over eat, and take those supplements. Sadly, when I told my gastro doctor that the supplements worked, he was surprised. Shouldn't he know that PPI's cause mag and b12 deficiencies if it even says it on the box? That tells you, you have to take action. Plus, the heart doctor, when I told him, he was surprised too. My heart if fine, but he never thought to check me for an deficiency either. When you look up, online, how magnesium is related to the heart.... wow.... so, much of a connection! I wish you all the best and hope this advice helps at least some.

Anti-acids can also dry out your bones if taking for a long period of time! and also B-12 iron deficiency can also be
"NEUROPATHY" PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY" and/or "DIABETES" it just takes so long for them to figure it out )-: but if you keep a diary it makes a big difference in diagnosing it faster!

You know i so 'understand'! and really feel for everyone i ended up in the hospital not to long ago )-: i went to raise up off my pillow, and it hit me so hard like something was crushing my chest, and i did'nt know what to do? so i sat it out but not for long )-: my boyfriend got in the rig and headed out to the 'ER' so i told him to go to 7-11 and let me try some anti-acids and a gingerale. the soda brings up the gas out of your chest exspecially gingerale! it was'nt going away so i went on into the 'ER' they ran tests, blood work, urine test. but what they did... was give me this mixture of mylanta & lidocane it was the bomb, it numbed me right away and took away the pain! (-: so i asked the "ER DOCTOR" when i have the attack how can i tell the difference between acid reflux and/or a heart attack! i live so far out in the country like 24 miles i mean it's pretty scary u just do not know?? she asked me if the mixture worked i said it did! my doctor has me on Protonics, and it is'nt working anymore. the 'ER DR" put me on the lidocane, mylanta. so if i have another one all i have to do is take the mixture and if it goes away i will know!! i eat very healthy, and it still happens. recently my "EMG" test comfirms "NEUROPATHY" so just done the B-12 testing so will see what sort of neuropathy?? and coffee is thee worst thing you can drink & chocolates i think they are punishing me LOL and i love this form because it's all good and learning from one another has been very helpful & i want to thank you all & "HAPPY HOLIDAYS" p.s. pumpkin pie is the worst... Best Wishes!

I also have the same sensation but mine only lasts a few seconds, I have mentioned it to the Doctor and he looks at me like he has never heard of anyone else with this problem. I also seem to get for a while then it goes away for a short time then it comes back again and the pattern continues. At times it is extremely disruptive.

Hello,

I've had a tightness in my throat for about a year now that feels like something is stuck in my throat. I occasionally get a spasm in my stomach right below my ribs on the right side that has gotten a lot worst the last few months- this spasm is the worst when I lay down in bed. I also get heart palpation occasionally. I have been to the doctor multiple times for my throat and they keep telling me it is because I have really bad acid reflux and GERDS. I get heart burn often, especially when I drink alcohol or eat spicy food. They put me on Prilosec OTC which helped great with the symptoms, so I don't know for sure but I feel this is caused by too much acid in the stomach, or acid reflux. I've had multiple doctors tell me the same thing. I've had a camera stuck down my throat and nose, they have found nothing besides inflaming which is caused by the acid coming up into my throat. Avoid spicy foods, take tums, and see if this helps. Calcium also helps a great amount. Hope this can be of help to others. Has anyone else heard the same thing from their doctors?

:)

Most doctors will label the cause ideopathic , and will rarely consider food intolerance . Check your pulse 20 minutes after eating if your pulse rate has increased  or you're having pvc's chances are something in your meal did it . Prime suspect is dairy , either lactose intolerance or too much calcium can cause arrhythmia .  No matter how many times this happens you always get scared a heart attack or stroke is imminent , it's a nightmare . Good luck I hope you find the cause . Magnesium chloride , and taurine supplements have helped me a lot .

A solution!

Hi everyone. I've read just about every post on this forum. I found it several months ago and it was such a relief to find that others are struggling with the same thing I've been battling for so long. Not only have the spasms/bloating triggered irregular beats, they've even triggered atrial fibrillation. The looks I've gotten from cardiologists when I've tried to explain that my problems seem to be digestive...oh man. I did finally find one who agreed that GERD and other stomach issues can cause irregular beats, but he had no cure other than to put me on some medication. The same with the latest GI doc I saw. Put me on protonix. I've been probed from above and below, made many runs to the ER, been on every treadmill test, tried several prescribed and over the counter meds...you name it. However, I found a solution...or at least, I think I have.

Are you familiar with Occams' Razor, that the simplest explanation is almost always the correct one? In addition to being diagnosed with GERD and other stomach ailments in my never ending search for solutions, two years ago I was diagnosed with a minor case of diverticulitis. The doc told me to just eat more fiber. I never gave it a second thought because they found the diverticulitis during a colonoscopy looking for more serious causes of my digestive problems. It was not an "Ah-ha!" moment, more of "by the way..." I'm now 49 and the problems have gotten much more persistent and frequent. I've stopped rushing to the ER during these episodes, but they are depressing. Another doc put me on Wellbutrin for anxiety. Imagine that...more medication. That just made me even more depressed. Who wants to live life like that? But then one morning I remembered what the doc said about the diverticulitis, and I made a connection. I had listened to a lecture on YouTube by Robert Lustig who enumerated the dangers of the modern diet, and chief among those was high sugar and low fiber. What if I'm simply not getting enough fiber? I've definitely tried to change my diet in the past...hell, I'd do anything to make this stop. But nothing seemed to work, the episodes always come back. But not anymore.

Why? Because I started taking simple fiber supplements, some generic form of citrucil I got at the drug store. I take 2 tablets 3x a day. And guess what? It's gone. I have a few more frequent trips to the toilet, but the episodes are gone. And it makes total sense now that I've had time to think about it. I always noticed that my bowels didn't seem to be working right when these episodes would occur, but thought it was just a biproduct of the bigger problem happening further up in my digestive system. But now I think it starts down at the end of the tube and affects it at the beginning. While I try to eat reasonably healthy, I'm certainly falling short of the 24 grams of fiber they recommend as a minimum per day. The supplements take care of that. I recommend taking them with a meal, that's what I've done. And I noticed the results immediately.

I still get acid indigestion, but I stopped taking the protonix. I just use some simple antacid liquid or tablets when it flares up. But it flares up a lot, lot less now. I could go on and on about the modern diet. I strongly urge you to watch Lustig's lecture on youtube. It's fascinating. But who knew that something so simple could prove so useful? I hope it works for you as well. Good luck!!
