To Guest: You could be going through menopause. It can happen as early as the 30's (a friend of mine is 33 and just found out that she is going through menopause though it's rare at her age).
I am also 33 and have had heavy, long periods (20-something days) with lots of big clots, fatigue (and tingling in my extremities if I remember correctly) twice. The first time really freaked me out. It was when I was in my mid-twenties and for some reason the college clinic I went to gave me antibiotics and said that maybe I had a urinary tract infection (weird since those are not the symptoms, are they?). I was really stressed at the time (finals), but had no other symptoms other than those I described. After finals were over and I left for Christmas vacation (on antibiotics) it went away. The second time was last year and it just stopped after a while. I am really concerned about it coming back and (even though the lady I go to for my pap smears, etc. says not to worry about it since my mom and sister also have had the same problem) I want to know WHY it happens. %-)

I have just recently started having really really bad cramps and heavy bleeding... I have also been passing clots anywhere from the size of a golf ball to the size of a fist.... I dont know what is going on..I am so scared and in so much pain! I have two little girls one is 5 and the other is 4... I didn't have any problems in my pregnancy at all..the delivery was very easy... Since than it has been hard to have sex because of the pain... The pain gets worse by the day..... I also have periods for months at a time now instead of just 5 to 7 days.. Dose anyone know what is going on? I went to the doctor but not a obgyn and all he couldn't tell me anything... Please let me know if there is anything i can do to fix this : (
For all of you ladies suffering from no heath insurance... I too am having period troubles, I live in california, I have no health insuance. I just found out today about the FAMILY PACT. It covers all gynocological needs. Please if you live in California and need to see a doctor apply for this! I went in today and got to see the doctor right away. Although I want a second oppion because the doctor seemed like an id**t, I have a whole list of doctor offices I can choose from. While I am at it, I will see if anyone has any advice for me...
I am 21 years old. I have a 1 year old daughter. For the past 2 months I have been on my period. It started as a browish discharge that was frankly more annoying than anything. Then it became more of a regular flow, for about 3 weeks. Now it is heavy, and there are big clots almost every time I go to the restroom. I have never had normal periods, mostly missing periods, I used to go months without a period, and when I would get it it would be very light and only 4 or 5 days long. My last pap smear was in Febuary of 08 before I lost my health insuance, and it was normal. Has anyone ever had this? What came of it? All the doctor I saw did was tell me I'm anemic, and give me birth control pills. Is that the best fix? *Sigh* Its crazy the difference in the health care treatment when you have really good insuance and when you have no insuance.

Hi every one, you might have fribroids which are tumors. Many women have fribriods it hormone tissues that are formed in your uterus. I have fribroids and i bleed alot and have blood clots and cramps all the time. Go to a gyn doctor and ask for a pap smear normally, thats how they can tell. If you do have fribroid they will send you to get an sonography test to determine the size and everything. Fribroids are common and they do not cause death. You can either have them remove are do nothing until they shrink during menapause. You should look it up so you know more about it. I have two large fribroids which can prevent women from getting pregnant or have miscarriages. Many doctors will tell you that you might not need surgery because they are not affecting you. HOPE THIS HELP!!!!
GOD BLESS KAY..........
GOD BLESS KAY..........
I have had these same problems my whole life. My period has NEVER been regular. About two years ago I had heavy bleeding with finger size blood clots that went on for three months. I did have insurance, and I went to both my family doctory and my gyno. The family doctor put me on birth control which did nothing, then put me on depo. The gyno then scheduled me for the pap and a sonogram, and they said i did not have any cysts and had no idea why I was bleeding so severly. After a month of depo I stopped bleeding completly. I stopped taking the depo shots after a year and asked my family doctor if she thought the bleeding would start all over.. her answer.. surprisingly "I dont know" thats all i've been hearing from them!! So.. here I am over a year being off Depo and I've only had my period once since then. Now suddenly I'm getting migranes during sex... the most painful migranes i've ever had. :'(
I'm very obese (340 lbs) and 30 years old.

Im so sorry to hear that so many people are going through this. Im 22 years old and I thought I was the only one. I spend so much money on pads. It first started when I was 19. Some months I go without my period and other times it last for up to 3 months. It is so uncomfortable. I recently just graduated Massage Therapy School and had to receive a massage almost every day and it made it absolutely worse. I pray that it would stop. :'(
i would go to the doctor right a way that was happening to my mother she had some diesease and had to take her whole utuerus and one ovary out
I am 33 and I have been off the pill for one year. In the last 6 months I have been getting heavy periods but they are still pretty regular give or take a few days. In the last 3 months they have gotten very heavy with lots of cramps! This month was different, I got my period three days ago and yesterday was the worst; however today was not much better! I had to change my tampon every 15 min just to get through a show, and for the second I still bled through and had to use 3 PADS! It has never been that bad. I had a lot of clots as well. Today I woke up and I had such severe stomach cramps I didn't know what to do. I am a self employed US cit. and My job keeps me over seas for months at a time. It is impossible to see my gyno. I took a lot of midol and ibuprofen today and got through my show but tonight I had the biggest clot I have ever seen! It was as big as a fist and BLACK! ( It is gross) but I felt it to see if it was solid and though blood came out of it, it remained solid. My cramps have subsided since I passed that clot but I am scared and I can't see my gyno for another 6 weeks. Any advice? Should I leave my contract could this affect my ability to have children?
This sounds just like me. I too am a massage student and I've definitely noticed that my periods have become regular. I didn't have my first period till I was 16. Then it was a year later and then it stopped. now I am 20 and having frequent heavy periods with many blood clots. I'm on it now and have gone through two rolls of TP.
Im in the same boat loves... ive been like this since i was 15 and now im 23 and it just gets worse. I dont have health insurance, and i dont make enough to be able to afford the trip to the doctor... im scared.
Excuse me for barging but I'm 20 now and having the same problems. Doctors have been trying to figure out what's wrong. I've been bleeding for just about a year now with the same type of symptoms and back in May I had an infected clot that was half the size of my uterus removed; however I am still continuing to bleed and it's getting worse again. They finally put me on iron supplements because my levels were so low. However, doctors have still been trying to figure out what's wrong. After your doctor helped you and diagnosed you, were you able to conceive? My husband and I have been waiting to see if it just goes away while going to doctors to try to figure everything out or if my body heals on its own but we want to start trying for our first child and we are getting very frustrated at the moment with everything. Insight would be greatly appreciated at this point in time.
I just started having this problem after I stopped breast feeding my lil one a year ago when i resumed having periods the first few were normal then about 7 months ago my periods started lasting for 3 weeks to a month with 3-5 days in between I also pass huge clots throughout. I just got out of the military and am jobless so no insurance and in a remote location due to my husbands job im really tired of it
Get a second opinion !!! I too have many problems with my period and an ultrasound and vaginal ultrasound was ordered immediately I find out my results in a couple days . Good luck to you !
I am 45 & this school year I was laid off by HISD, I lost all medical ins. & therefore could not afford to see my treating Dr. anymore. I still owe them $$ for all the tests that were performed on me & not to mention ER visits. I have been dealing with heavy/missed periods for over 3 years along with huge amounts of clotting & severe pain. Heating pads & OTC meds help me get through these "periods". When I did work it became a ritual to pack an extra bag of the same clothes along with extra undies & long pads in case of emergencies. I am still waiting for menopause......
it normally hits about 35-65+
