Ooh I'm sorry you got a root canal. Make sure you keep up on it checking it at least once a year . I had 3 root canals and didn't have any symptoms of them failing but found 2 years ago when I had a check up at a new dentist and x rays showed they were all infected at the roots. I believe one of them may have caused me a kidney infection in 2014.
I'm scared of root canals now. I had to get 3 teeth extracted. One left and I want to see how an apicoectomy goes

Thank you so much everyone for this information. I have a molar that has a abscess in it. I'm itching like crazy breaking out in hives. I thought it was the antibiotics because they were expired so I stopped taking them. I'm wondering what type of antibiotics were you given to treat this? I guess I'll go to the er until I can get into the dentist.
I have had a sinus infection for approximately 4-5 months now. Antibiotics help but not for long. Next came a rash. I have spent alot of time researching my symptoms and made a trip to the dentist to confirm my suspicion. I have a tooth abscess which I now believe is causing the sinus issues and rash. I have had terrible headaches and nausea. Glad to find this site and hear similar stories!
Wow...finally some clue as to what might be causing my chronic hives. Though I have yet to see a dentist for my molar (no insurance), I am beginning to feel that this could really be the cause of my hives. I've had them for three months straight, every single day. At first they started as little bumps but gradually turned into bigger welts. Its been terrifying to say the least. I get them primarily on forearms, neck, and now my face which is super creepy. I've thought they were scabies, I've learned about all sorts of auto-immune diseases that cause hives et. And suddenly I realized that perhaps it was my rotting tooth and the infection that undoubtedly is happening in my mouth because of it. I hope its as simple as getting the tooth pulled and my infection cured so that I can get rid of these symptoms. Thank you all for sharing your story.
I had an unexplained urticaria for exatly 4 years. I have been to the dermatologist who transferred me to a psychiatrist because he thought it was stress induced. He gave me atarax as treatment for symptoms. Only now I discovered by accident that it all has to do with an asymptomatic periodontal cyst. I hope it turns out well. I wish my doctors thought of dental infection before now.
Can a tooth abscess cause a large loss of vitamin D?
Had a root canal. Very infected tooth that came out of nowhere. Took antibiotics. Doctors thought I was having a late onset reaction to penicillin. My complete body was covered in hives beyond itchy was incredibly uncomfortable. So I got a shot of steroids in the butt, and told to continue to take antihistamines. Well it is back, and I am on holidays, and hope I can get thru the week. No sun for me! Is this dangerous? Can I wait ? I am absolutely fine, but rather bumpy and itchy.
