After just 2 hours? Your issue sounds like it's more mental than anything, as are everyone else's here only to a lesser degree than yours. One thing I'll advise anyone trying to quit anything, the most powerful technique is I've used is self hypnosis.. Basically I went online got some self hypnosis scripts..you basically record the personalised script on your smart phone or whatever the listen to them when you wake up and before bed. Goodluck

Hey don't speak on what u don't k ow, been smoking since 12 on and off, I too never experienced withdrawal symptoms, but now I am, I thought like you did, but when u experience it for yourself there's no questioning it, and even without withdrawals its still addictive, because u keep going back to it!

Been smoking for 9 years straight, at first about an eight a day, recently about a quarter a day (high grade medical) also smoking dabs and hash (concentrates really kick up your tolerance). Recently moved to a new country where weed isnt readily available and am now on day 20 cold turkey. Food is no problem as I exercise regularly. Smoking a cigarette before bed helped get me to sleep. In an event to be a little healthier I recently bought an e cig with high nicotine content. Seems to work with sleep. I definitely feel alot more depressed though.

I've smoked for over 15yrs. Daily I just stopped. Not a decision but it just happened I got bad cold an just didn't like both together so I stopped. No side effects I've always had issues with sleep so nothing new. I have been praying more than I used to. I know gods real an he does help. I've seen many miracles and I have experience in them from him. Maybe that's why I'm not feinig for it. But just maybe it's not addictive lol. Mentally yeah I like it but don't feel sick with out it or like I'm gunna die not like blow or crank or harder drugs the effect are right after the high is going away. Weed is herbal medicine so if its clean an grown right your toxicity should be easy to flush. Water food an vitamins work. But I'm firm that God is the only reason y I'm not worried about it or care much.

You really are ignorant aren't you? It affects everyone differently because of different body chemistry, maybe instead of talking down to everyone and thinking you're an expert do some research because you just come across as a wanker

Hi all I'm quitting weed again after 8 months of daily use to help with insomnia but have realised that I am depending on it again. I just thought I would offer a bit of advice for overcoming the WDs as I suffer fairly badly from pretty much every symptom listed except the vivid dreams. Headaches I have found are mostly tension headaches so hot baths and a good neck massage can help alot. The fatigue can be helped by turmeric and ginger tea and feelings of depression can be helped by exercise and moral support from those close to you. The anger and anxiety can be controlled in the first few days can be helped by taking an over the counter codeine tablet (also helpful with headaches) but be careful not to replace one addictive substance with another, only use it for a week at the very most. Unfortunately I can't help with the insomnia as I suffer badly from it without WDs so I just try to bare with it as long as I can then its back to my dr for sleeping pills again unfortunately. Don't hang around with people that smoke at least until the cravings stop but you will find that you get bored hanging around people that are stoned when you aren't and you will make new friends. Good luck to all who have decided to quit I hope you stick to it and I hope that this info helps you.

I'm 22 and I've been smoking pot every day several times a day for the past 3 years. People keep saying that weed withdrawal isn't real and that if you do experience withdrawal symptoms it's all psychological. I can testify that nothing is further from the truth. I started detoxing because the long term effects of smoking pot are not as great as if you smoke occasionally. I've been sober for a week and I've definitely been having both psychological and physiological withdrawal symptoms.

Symptoms include:

Psychological
-depression
-intense anxiety/thinking you're dying
-insomnia
-giving up on life
-irritability and/or anger
-either loss or gain of libido

Physiological:
-tremors/shakiness
-headaches
-body aches
-abdominal pain
-night sweats (sometimes to where you have to change your sheets)
-excessive sweating (mostly hands and wherever you sweat the most)

Regular and heavy smokers are most likely to experience both kinds of withdrawal while occasional and short term smokers might only experience a few if any physiological symptoms at all. Which withdrawal symptoms occur totally depends on the person (immune system, body chemistry, mental condition). If you used pot as a numbing agent to suppress emotions and feelings get ready to deal with them, they come back with a vengeance.

Over and all the myth that there are no physiological withdrawal symptoms is BS to put it in plain words. Weed withdrawal is real and physiological symptoms are also real but only most likely in long term and heavy pot smokers that try to quit.

I hope this helped

I can only agree with everything you said. I like your last paragraph since it's so true I myself discovered that series chronic use (every 2-3 hours) every day just rips the quality of life from you. Before I started I was motives that achieve a great career, I felt excitement for things and in certain situations but about after 2 months of heavy smoking I turned into an emotionless zombie, I felt like nothing mattered and any motivation to achieve anything were wiped out. So I can only agree that long term use should be avoided. But sometimes you just can't beat a nice fat one after a long day at work so if I'd recommend if you do want to smoke occasionally do it at the end of the day after a long day, it's way more rewarding and enjoyable.

Thank you for this great post!

Currently Detoxing myself, and I agree. I have a addictive personality and need self discipline. Several of my friends smoke daily and can stop with no side effects other then sleeping. Marijuana is like every other pleasure in life you need moderation. I set rules for myself to follow after I can pass a test and go back
1. Marijuana-less Mondays; one day a week of no weed no alcohol.
2. No wake and baking. Period
3. No more then 4-5 gs a week, when you pace your self and set an amount it's easier to control it

I smoked from the end of May of 2015 to December 18th. During the summer it was basically everyday I smoked for the whole day and if I wasn't smoking I would be out looking for a way to smoke. It got really bad to the point I was even scavenging for bits and pieces off my friends garage. I quit on the 18th of December and smoked on new years and it gave me a panic attack, i smoked again on February 6th and the same thing happen. I haven't smoked since the 6th and I've been going through symptoms of depression, stress, anxiety, laziness, no emotions, mood swings, etc. I'm waiting for these symptoms to go away. It feels like it's been forever. Does anyone know how long it will be until I'm over and done with these symptoms?
