Psychological Help? Really?! I was just treated for Chlamydia and my husband and I were having unprotected sex to get pregnant. You are correct, this can be contracted via other means than sexual activity. I have had this infection twice before, both due to sexual activity, and had symptoms within 2-3 days both times. I recently came down with the infection again, however I had not been active with my xgf for over a month. If it had been from her, I would definitely shown signs far before I did. This infection was acquired by some means other than sexual contact.

Think of it this way. When your body rids itself of a disease/infection/etc it has to come out somehow. Sweat, urine, discharge. Your body is probably just cleaning itself out - making a follow up appointment with your doctor could be a good idea though.

I was with my ex partner (father to my son) for 3 years and had a full screen the month we started dating (all were negative) however at the end of our 3 year relationship I went for another full screen and all results came back negative again except I was positive for chlamydia. I was given 2g Azithromycin (4 x 500mg) as a single dose. I don't know at what point during those 3 years I got infected as I didn't present any symptoms but despite all I gave birth to a healthy little boy in May this year and I could have been infected for a few years so I think you should be fine, though you should talk to a doctor if you're concerned.
