I am 23 years old. I went on the Depo when I met my partner, I was 19. I went off the depo about a year & a half later (2yrs ago). I have had regular periods now for about 6-8months, however have not yet fell pregnant. I am beginning to worry that this is because of me using Depo, or Im being really impatient.
What is the maximum time it should take for me to fall pregnant before i should maybe discuss fertility options with my dr? Thanks heaps for any advise you can share with me
a lot of woman have described on here. I am now 13 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child and just want to offer some hope for anyone still
trying. I spent hours reading these forums when i was struggling to conceive and found them a great help but there was few posts where
people had come back to say they did it manage it! I had no periods or any symptoms until January 2011. On the 1st i started with awful back ache
and then stomach cramps. Within the week i was in agony. My stomach, back, legs and groin ached constantly and my breasts where swollen
and so sore even the weight of the bed covers was painful. It was worse then any period or even pregnancy pain i have ever had. I was also
exhausted to the point i was faint and dizzy on occasions. I did a pregnancy test to check i hadn't just been really lucky but it was negative. All this lasted for about 3 weeks. Finanly the pain subsided and i started feeling better. After about week of freedom is statred again, building
slowly and then increasing the same way it had last time. However this time on the 29th Jan i got my 1st period! It was a normal period for me
and the pains went away afterwards. Two weeks later when i hoped to be ovulating , to the day, the pains started again. Once again i was
in agony. We where still trying but i didint hold out much hope. The pains contunied for the rest of that month but i didnt come on on my
due date. I took a pregancy test but was negative. Carried on in pain for anouther 2 weeks when i was eventually with still no period did
anouther test and it was posative!! I know i was extremly lucky, every doctor and midwife has commented how quickly i managed to
concevie so dont think this is the norm. From what i gatherd from hours of reading and experiance is that your body seems to experieance terrible
withdrawal symptoms when it is deprived of the hormone in the injection. The symptoms with me seem to happen when i think my body was
either trying to have a period of trying to ovulate but couldnt because the hormones still hadnt returned to normal levels. I think the time
it takes for you to return to normal just depends on your own body. How quickly it can get rid of the artificual projestrone and start producing
estrogen. Also the as the injection is put directly into your muscle it can sometimes cam remain in there after the normal 3 month period,
and continue to leak out, stoping your natural fertility from returning further still. Hope this has helped a bit if nothing else but to reasure
you your not on your on (doctors seem to pretend they have never heard of withdrawal symtoms from this injection). Good luck and please ask any questions!
everyones body is different. but it seems with all my research and personal experience the wait time is 10 months. i was on the depo for 4 years. i came off of it in august, my boyfriend and i tried for months. i started to think i just couldnt get prego. i stopped tryin in june when i found out i was pregnant. i had a misscarraige. so i went bak on the depo because my doctor told me to wait at least a year before tryin to become pregnant again. so once again ive been on the depo since last august when i had my misscaraige. i missed my last shot that was due in the beggining of may. its july now and i can feel im gettn my period soon, (cramps, boobss hurt, acne, chocolate cravings) last time it took 10 months, hopefully its doesnt take that long again, good luck everyone,

HI,
I got the depo shot in 2009 and it ran out at the end of december of 2009.. i didnt have a period for two months then keep bleeding for two months on and off, i went to my doctor and she put me on regular birth control pills, it made my periods regular again, three months later i found out i was a month pregnant, it took me six months.. and i believe i have the birth control pills to thank. hopefully this will help some out! good luck all!
