i have been on the depo for 8yrs im off now i didnt went for my shot that was in june of this year my period came two mths ofther i dont know wat to do i realy need my second child how long will it take me to get pregnant

Hi there! This sounds a little like my story. I was on the depo for approx 2 yrs I got off of it in July of 2007 and been trying to conceive since then. Very long time! I didn't wanna get on anything as I wanted to get pregnant on my own but doesn't seem like its going to happen so I been on Clomid for three months now. When I was on Depo I only had maybe two periods and took approx 2 yrs to start having periods in which did not get back to normal pattern until this year. My opinion I would not recommend Depo to anyone.
I have been on the depo for almost three years and had not gotten the shot again. now i am no longer on and would like to conceive. Is it more than likely that since i have been on it for a while that i cant conceive or have a period?

I have the same problem as all of you. My last shot was in May 2011 and My fianc and a I have been trying for a baby. It has been 9 onths since my last shot and still no luck. I would like to know how long I need to wait till I can conceive and If there is anything that can help me.
Hey girls, I just waned to shed bait of hope to you all trying to get pregnant after depo,I had my daughter in 2005 with my ex partner after her birth I went straight onto contraception from 2005 to 2009 I went on the pill,had the coil,the mini pill and then came off everything and then for 2years without using any form on birth control I never once got caught pregnant I was starting to think I couldn't have anymore babies,I was then single so decided to go on depo it's brilliant for not worrying about pills etc but I constantly bleed on it so had to have top ups and pills to stop my bleeding I didn't go back for my depo in April 2011 I met my new partner who is wonderfull an it was love at first sight....we discussed children and we both wanted them so we didn't use any contraception because I was told it takes moths to years to get your periods back to normal after depo which I was having 2periods a month and bleeding for weeks at a time so I didn't think there was any chance of me getting pregnant.....to my surprise I'm 9weeks pregnant tomorrow just 9months after the depo I'm still very wary as I'm incredibly lucky to conceive this quick and worried something will happen but all is good up to now....so to all you mummy's to be there is hope for all of you lady's I wish you all the luck in the world that you all get your babies very soon xxxxxxxxx baby dust to you all xxxxxxx

I am 35 came off the injection last May 2011 and had my first period in November , which lasted 7 days (normal for me) but then in December my period lasted 2 wks and then a further 2wks of spotting. I am using the period tracker ap on my partner's iphone and my cycle is all over the place. I completely relate to the pain and discomfort you mentioned but am starting to panic, as trying for my first and feel like a ticking time bomb. lol.
I was on the Depo injection for 8 years solid. Me and my husband decided to start trying for a baby my jab was due in the January i found out i was 8 weeks pregnant in the July. BUT i do always start spotting about 2 weeks before the jab is due, and my periods resumed within 3 weeks of missing the jab, although not regular.x

I had my first depo shot in 09 when I was n 9th grade, met a guy, got engaged, but was to young to evan want to get peegnant. Still n high school for gosh sakes. Well we broke up in 2011. So thank god for the shot. But now I've met another guy, crazy for him. I want to get pregnant. Ready for my own. And now im afraid being on it this long. Its gonna b forever! Ugh!.

woooah im so glad i found this! i had only been on the depo for 6 months (2 shots) and was meant to go in on april 5 for the third shot but didnt as me and my husband are thinking seriously about trying for a baby. i had no idea the trouble depo could cause afterwards.
Just like most of you I wasnt told pros or cons or risks etc. and if i had known i wouldnt have done it. but i suppose the wait will be worth it to have a baby :)

I am so sorry to hear about your story because it is so close to mine I had my son in June and he passed away in october I to only had one depo shot in August was do for my second one in November and I also am trying to have another baby it's now April and I just got my first period after my shot....,
How much longer till I can get pregnant?
