For the last 4 months I have been tring to lose weight . I have had 4 children pretty close together and I have not been able to lose weight since I have had them. So I started to try agian. Well at first I lost 21 lbs very fast and now I see the scale going be up. I have been riding bikes for the past 3 three weeks at least 2 miles 3-5 days a week. Now for the past 3 days have strated so straight trainnig to see if that will get me back into loseing weight. I stay between 1000-1500 cals a day and I am very stricted on myself to stay in that range. I am 5'6 and 26 years old and I have been fat all of my life. I am in need of losing at leat another 90 lbs to be in that ideal weight range that everyone talks about. But right now I just want to get under 200lbs. I was told take I may be losing inches ,dose anyone know how long I will lose inches and gain muscle ? I need some advice so I can keep going. Thanks
Get yourself checked for hypothyroidism. Not having enough thyroid hormone will slow your metabolism to a crawl. Biking for two miles 3-5 days a week will not give you enough intensity to make a significant difference. You need to add resistance training at least three times a week. Staying between 1000 to 1500 calories a day is a good start, but you still have to be mindful of what you eat. Go on a low glycemic diet, the type recommended for diabetics, even if you are not diabetic. That means no sugary foods such as ice cream, soda and candy. Eat a moderate amount of high quality proteins from lean beef, pork and chicken. Eat fatty fish such as salmon, tuna and mackerel occasionally to get the omega fatty acid that you will need. Go light on high glycemic foods such as potatoes, bread, pasta, rice.
Another thing to consider is to do a cleansing on your intestinal/digestive tract. If this area is not clear of accumulated wastes, your body cannot detox and eliminate whatever substances are making up your individual fat cell contents, so to speak. A really good waste eliminator is ruby red grapefruit, without sugar! They are not as sour as white ones, so you can adjust to the tase. Just be sure to check you acid/alkaline balance as to not throw it out of whack.
Can you tell me a little more about this? What would you have to do to check your acid/alkaline balance in the first place? ANd how do you normally get the juice? Is it fresh squeezed?
I'm not sure about how to get PH checked, as I've never done this myself, but I do know that some people have bordering on dangerous acid/alkaline balances. I usually just monitor how I feel in general, and if something makes me feel "off" or bad in any way, I go by that. I think there are PH kits available at natural health stores. Or you can contact one and ask about it. As far as juicing, I just eat the whole grapfruit, usually before bed and after a day of smaller, lighter meals, high in fiber and veggies. And I drink plenty of water. There are several detox kits available. Once again, inquire at a natural health store. I've found that detoxing, from personal experience, is a great way to jump start weight loss. You have to "do your homework" and find what works best for you, as everyone's body chemistry is different.
I thinkt hat the advice is pretty helpful. I don't know about acid/alkaline balances though so I don't think I am off if that's what you're talking about. Do you have any resources that you'd recommend like a book or website or something that you use? I think that would be helpful. Thanks!
There are books out addressing acid/alkaline imbalances, I know there's at least one available through "One Spirit" book club. You can probably search on the "net" for books on the topic. Otherwise, inquire at your local health co-op.
The One Spirit book club? Can you tell me what that is? I'll be doing a search in the meantime but I wasn't able to find anything that made sense to me. Maybe I already found it but overlooked it. Thanks!
Should come up on a Google dearch, or any other. You can also check bookstores.
I narrowed my search down a little better and I was able to find it. One Spirit on its own came up with a bunch of unrelated stuff but the word book club worked better. Thanks very much! I'm sorry to keep bugging but I really wanted to know more about this. Thanks again. :)
