hello all..
im 19 and my husband is 21 and we decided we want to have a baby. ive been off birth control (yaz) since april but no luck yet. he has a varicocele (enlarged veins like a "bag of worms" in his left testical) which doesnt cause him any problems. only some pain once at 17 and once again at 21. he has no visible problems at all. when he was 21 he has an ultrasound on it and his doctor told him not to worry about it..it shouldnt cause a problem and he shouldnt get surgery unless the pain was more frequent. im just nervous..i dont know if i should trust the doctor.. i feel silly we just both really want a baby. my period was 9 days late this past month n it was alot lighter and alot of brown/redish and only 3-4 days. im not sure what that means. i took a pregnany test and it said negative. i just need some positive thoughts...can anyone relate i feel all alone and im afraid ill never get pregnant with my husbands condition...peace love and positive thoughts Xox0

You should be likely to get pregnant. Keep in mind that it can take up to a year for a healthy couple to get pregnant, so be patient in the mean time.
As far as your symptoms, my guess is it could be one of three things. First, it could be a late period due to stress. If you're stressing too much about getting pregnant, try and calm down. This stress will make it harder for you to get pregnant in the end.
Second, it could be that you are pregnant at the moment but that you don't test positive yet. Some women take longer to test positive or just never test positive. If your period skips again, take another test. If that's still negative, call your doctor and have he/she schedule a blood test.
Third, it could be that you were pregnant, but then you suffered a miscarriage. If so, that would explain why you had a late period, then started bleeding and tested negative.
If it's any of these scenarios, don't fret. Just keep trying and don't stress yourself out. :-)

bedsonTrudeau..thanks for ur positive thoughts! ive heard alot of stories of people with varicoceles having to turn to IVF or IUI treatments and i really hope we can get preganat naturally..we both also want a big family. i have been stressed lately. hopefully we can keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. peace love and positive thoughts x0xo
