I had mine out last Monday and had no desire to poop until the Friday. I'd been expecting all sorts of problems but it ended up being a very normal poop. I'd been worried because I was getting so bloated. Anyway, it's now Tuesday (just over a week since the op) and apart from eating smaller meals and cutting back on the alcohol, I haven't had to make any changes. Oh, I've had one morning where I've had two upset tummies but that's it. Just wanted to post a good result story as I was freaking out the first few days as well.

Probiotic fibre will help to make your stool soft and easy to poop. Regular bowel movement is very important for our health and it is natural way to keep our healthy body. It is 100% safe for consumption.

Here's a POSITIVE story...Just had lapo gb removal 5 days ago. Ate pretty healthily prior to gb removal. Had a BM every day to every 3 days prior to surgery. Was sent home the day after surgery. Had my 1st post surgery BM today :). No problems, no pain, no diarrhea. Only took Percocet the day I got home from hospital. Didn't need it after that. Feeling great! Wishing everyone a speedy recovery.

You're probably eating too much fat. You need to slowly re-introduce fats and high fiber foods back into your diet.

I had my GB out Tuesday, it's now Saturday and I PRAYED I wouldn't need to poop until my surgical area felt better. I can sit up now with less pain, I've been on stool softeners since before the op and took miralax twice yesterday because I started feeling waste in my colon and wanted to make it easier to release. Today, after another shot of miralax, I had a relatively normal soft BM with mild to moderate surgical site pain - less than my first gas release caused on Wednesday but more than passing gas causes now.

I felt bloated and had gas pains from the first moment I woke up after my surgery, and it only took a few more hours before I passed gas the first time, but I couldn't deficate for several days and was worried that it would hurt to poop or I would get constipated. But the pain of using those muscles wasn't TOO bad when I was finally ready to release, and with the regular stool softeners and some miralax it got out okay. Not liquidy like I expected from double doses of laxative but not compacted or solid like most of the stories on here. Took four days to have my first BM, and I've had two BMs a day, all soft and significant amounts, since then.

You are soooo right on! I have heard people who have been diagnosed with Diabetes say things like "If it wasn't for Diabetes I probably wouldn't be alive right now" or say "I guess the man upstairs had a plan for me when he blessed me with Diabetes" And these people are not joking a bit because by being forced to take action and make some major lifestyle changes has made them healthier people altogether from diet and exercise to a new appreciation for life. So, everyone has a choice as to do better because of gallbladder removal or they can choose to do not so good in spite of it... So very simple and I prefer the easy road ahead which is do good by your body and it will reward you... so Chic as far as the constipation, take it as a warning and don't delay. Doc's call it "Sleepy Bowel Syndrome" because being under anesthesia causes it. Call your Surgeon and they can call a RX in for you. Lactulose is one of many so Google prescription laxatives and if you have a preference then request it whrn you call. But please don't hesitate to. You know your body better than anyone else...

I was bloated as if I was carrying triplets... so that's too funny. Best thing is Fleet enemas 2 at a time twice a day and gasx liqugels. Chewables are ok but the gel pills will help much better...

I had my gallbladder removed March 1st I had the gas pain and passing gas for two days.on the third day which was Friday the gas pains eased up.it is now Tuesday and I have had my first bowel movements.it all depends on what your eating,if your not eating fiber or yogurt, it won't help pass the stool.I have heard horror stories about diarrhea after gallbladder surgery I am glad that I do not have this it is important to take your pain medication on time because waiting too long makes it worse.walking around and sitting up in your bed or a chair can help with the gas pain. Taking slow deep breaths helps your lungs pass the gas and make the hard to breathe feeling less hurtfull.stay hydrated this will help.still healing and in pain, but not like before my surgery. Hope this helps, good luck and a speedy recovery.

I have had mine out 5 years ago now and they told me I would not have issues going to the bathroom again. But I do more often or not it's like the size of a baby's head or it feels that way to the point it just wont come out. Take pills fiber and exlax and nothing... it can be days sometimes a week before I can go no matter what I do or eat. I am going to the doc about it on Monday after a few days ago was in just so much pain from not being able to go. On top of this I'm starting to think some of my organs have moved because things in my tummy don't look so right
