I do this too! It started out as a different habit unfortunately. When I was in grade school I had head lice. The shampoos weren't working so my mom would search my head for hours and pull each bug and egg out of my hair and squish/burn them. It stressed me out so much that at night I would lie in my bed and pick everything out of it. The bugs I would squish. One time I had an egg stick under my nail and I chewed my nail and happened to pop the lice egg. I discovered that I enjoy the eggs (never the bugs). So I started eating them. Then my lice went away. Sometimes I would get a small piece of dandruff and enjoyed that too. As I got older my dandruff worsened. Not sure if its because I scratch myself or not. I basically eat and enjoy all of the "dead" stuff that comes off my body. Dandruff, boogers, eye goopies, scabs, I like scraping the dirt from under my fingernails out with my teeth and chewing on that and crunching it in my teeth, I scratch my skin in dry areas especially my shoulders and eat that dead skin too. I've even had calluses that were starting to Peel (like after blisters pop and start hardening into calluses) and chew on those. They're good because you can kind of us on them and they're hard and chewy. I'm 21 years old. And I'm a clean person. This has been happening for so long I don't think about it as even being strange. I always wondered if this is something natural and others do it too? Glad to know at least on the dandruff issue I'm not the only one. I don't feel mine is from stress where it originates. Although it does increase when I'm stressed or bored or thinking hard about something or day dreaming. I also pick hair off of my body especially my eyebrows. I also want to note that I don't do any of these things to a large degree like it sounds like some others here do. I don't pick myself until I bleed or take tools to myself or anything. I don't try to cause the stuff so I can eat it. I just enjoy it when it comes. I have eyebrows I haven't picked them off. I don't bite my fingernails down to bloody stumps. They're a decent length. Another thing I do is every now and then I will get a pimple. Not like a nasty one all p***y or anything but just when you have a bump or a flake on your face from a pimple I will eat it too. Anyone else partake in the consumption of MULTIPLE "dead" stuff off your bodies?

I scrape off the flakes and collect them in my fingernails then eat them ^~^ I used to get scabs from it then pick those and let them bleed. Unfortunately this is from a traumatic expirence I had when I was 7, I had lice from kids at school but mine got so bad and my hair was so thick and soooo long like down to my butt they had to cut all of it off to my ears... So now I pick at my head to "make sure I don't have lice" I'm in 8th grade now and don't do it too much but when I'm stressed I defiantly do it... I hate it

I eat scabs and eye crust and all that stuff ,", I'm like soooo glad I'm not the only one and like you it originated from head lice except I'm in 8th grade and had lice when I was in kindergarten. Idk why but I love to eat scabs. IM NOT TRAILER TRASH or anything I'm middle class and clean. Everyone I know doesn't know I do this

Also a dandruff water. I have been since I was in grade school. I suffer from sebhorric dermatitis and get flare ups constantly. Over the years it has progressed to me always having a hand on my scalp 'feeling' for big flakes. I'm sure that's part of my problem right there, but it is so hard to stop. I'm starting to wear hats to remind myself to keep my fingers out of my hair. I just want it gone...I don't want to se thousands of flakes on my shoulders anymore. I want to be up to go to the beauty parlor and get my haircut without worrying if I have a case of dandruff currently. I've also tried everything even going to a dermatologist. Currently trying apple cider vinegar.

READ FOR HELP Hello I'm 18 years old ... And I started recently when I was near 16 ... Before I would just run my hand threw my hair and dust off my head on a napkin and then just throw it away .. I had horrible relationship with my shower .. I use to do many remedy to get rid of my dandruff "cutting tomato and running it on your head" It worked fantastic but it always seem to come back ... One day when I was dusting my head a big piece of dandruff fell down and I felt the random urge to consume it and it had no sense of flavor or anything, soon I kept doing it behind doors when I was bored on my phone, tv, etc. till I started doing it infront of people feeling completely disgusted in myself... One day I kept scratching till it would cut me a little without realizing then later the day I had gone to the barber shop and they cut my hair fairly short and they barber says to.. "Hey man do you have some disease or something on your head I don't want to touch it if it is" because he seen the redness I felt honestly terrified and disgusted being judged .. Though no one says why do you do it I know they questioned me mentally, it came to the sense of while I'm writing this I will quick how I quick other things .. Find one thing , what I do simply is put marker are my finger i scratch with so if I see it without realization I'll will stop .. I'm not saying to do what I do.. Some people put rubber band around there wrist for reminder .. If there's anything that you know that can assist you not to raise your hand up attempt it .. ALSO people with dandruff need to shower 2x more then a person without dandruff ... Morning before school,work... Night before bed... Hope you guys read this threw .. And just remember your not alone but there always help :)

I have rather unfortunate news for everyone here suffering from seemingly endless flakes. After yet ANOTHER trip to my dermatologist and finding that another RX shampoo was useless, he told me, "That's the problem with sebhorric dermatitis. You will likely have it forever, and if you use a shampoo too long your scalp (dandruff), it's effectiveness will likely wear off. You need to alternate between several medicated shampoos. Apple cider vinegar will work too, but you will always have flare ups."

So it looks like for most of us, it is probably sebhorric dermatitis. Obviously, if you can afford to you might want to go see a dermatologist yourself because I am not a doctor. I will do a mix of coconut oil or olive oil and coat my hair and scalp with it for an hour and rinse it off and shampoo. This adds moisture back into my scalp, but I will never get rid of it. It looks like I will never be able to wear dark clothes again. :(
