I had the novasure procedure two months ago, the 1st month after procedure certain positions were painful. Upon entry I had to make him hold still for a minute. Sex feels different. He then said your not nearly as wet as you used to get & now I spot after having sex & feel intense itch after sex & discomfort. Have not tried the sex positions that were causing pain but am more aware I am not getting wet even with prolonged foreplay. I’m hoping this subsides, still spotting after sex, having itching, & slight pain & sex definitely feels different for me & for my husband although he says he definitely notices the difference in my wetness, it has not started to bother him. I’m hoping this does not begin to play on his mind. We are extremely sexually active, now i’m a bit worried I made a mistake with this procedure if this was the trade off. I had asked my doctor and read the phamplet and never read anything about this, nor was I told of the possible side effect by my doctor. Had this been disclosed I would not have moved forward with procedure. Keeping positive for moment but will keep you all posted.
Wondering if you have an update because I am experiencing the same thing. I had the Novasure ablation over a year ago. It stopped my heavy menstrual bleeding but I noticed vagina dryness soon after. Doctor said the dryness was not related to the procedure. He ordered hormone test/labs. All were within normal limits. I have since learned that so many women experience vaginal dryness after this procedure but it is not discussed prior to the procedure. This has put such a strain on my marriage. I get anxiety when I know my husbands wants to have sex because it’s so painful. The doctor and Novasure representative need to be honest and tell patients this is a potential side effect.
