I hate this argument for marijuana. "It's a plant found in nature so therefore it's good for you". There are plenty of plants that will kill you right now if you eat them. I'm not saying weed is bad, but different strains and cannibinoids medicate different conditions. For example, some cannibiniods actually act as a hunger suppressant! You should research what kind of weed is best for you! I use this app called PotBot, it's awesome. It's helps match up which strains/cannabinoids are best for what.
Best of pot luck!
I quit smoking pot 12 days ago. My period came a week early. Not thrilled, but after smoking every day for 7 years... i figured my body would go through changes.
Wow. Stop sugesting that people should just keep using. Just cause it is natural. So is coke! Listen to your body. Make healthy choices. Smoking will eventually lead to lung problems.
I smoked weed heavily in past 4 months and my periods are irregular i am sure its because of MJ i just wanted to know i have stopped it now can my periods be back to normal?
Hi i have stopped smoking weed now after heavy smoking amd it was causing ireregulatory in my periods will my periods be ever regular?
Hi as a long time pot smoker I can say my periods have been pretty regular always have had a 30 day cycle. I can say stress always messes with your period so try not worrying so much and just keep track of your cycle till it becomes more regular.
I agreed with you at first, but the thing about anxiety is wrong. People with anxiety should be careful yes because it can cause your anxiety to worsen in the moment if you aren't careful but if you know what you are doing and how your body reacts then you will be safe. I have a fairly bad anxiety disorder (officially diagnosed by multiple doctors) and I have no problem with cannabis. It actually helps to treat my anxiety in fact, by making me more relaxed and calm.

To anyone reading this thread; in my experience, weed definitely affects your period. I think it just makes it more erratic and less predictable.
My reason for thinking this is I use an app to track my period, and have done so for three years. When I was smoking weed regularly I can see in my app that my period cycle would vary between 18 and 50 days. I stopped smoking in January 2017 and ever since then my period has come every 28-31 days. I hadn't made the connection until now but seems like there is a very strong correlation.

I'm on birth control myself, I got on it to regulate my period when I was a senior in high school that was probably between 4-5 years ago. I am prone to irregular periods, before i got on birth control I would skip my period for as long as 6 months. I just recently started smoking back in April/May but not regularly until June. My periods were "normal" for someone even on birth control and prone to irregular periods. I haven't had my period now since July. I'm now starting to think that maybe I'm smoking too much.
I went to my OBGYN yesterday and I'm now scheduled for an ultrasound and blood work. So I'm not 100% sure that getting on birth control will help as much, because birth control itself is a hormonic pill to stop you from ovulating. so if weed can affect your hormones; I'm sure it can probably affect birth control as well.
I'm no doctor obviously! I'm just trying to give some insight on what I'm going through right now as well as learn from others to make myself feel more at ease, It's kind of scary!

I agree. I've been a regular daily smoker for about 4 years. I started off having regular periods but they started to become more irregular maybe every 50 days or so. I quit weed as I wasn't eating and for other reasons but low and behold the 4 months of no weed made my period super regular 28 day cycles. I started smoking again over the holidays and my first cycle was okay but now the next ones have been irregular. My intuition tells me that its the weed so I have stopped altogether.
So, I am 14, and I haven't gotten my period for the first time. Is it because I smoke weed? Could weed possibly slow my body down?
