I'm going to try to be as thorough as I can. My scrotum has been red and itchy for what's going on five months. It's also appears thicker than normal with more folds/creases. The perineum and intergluteal cleft (butt crack) have been itchy as well but show no signs of discoloration. The shaft of my penis is completely normal and does not itch at all. I occasionally (daily) get a strange tingly sensation almost as if something is crawling over my skin that spreads down my inner thighs almost to the tops of my knees. No sign of rash or discoloration on my thighs. Occasional intense pain that feels like its coming from inside my scrotum. I've seen seven people that include dermatologists/Urgent Care physicians who have prescribed a wide range of different treatments that include everything from tea tree oil to topicals to antibiotics. NOTHING seems to have worked. I've tested for STDs and everything has come back negative. I've used Cortisone/oxistat/diflucan/antifungal foot fungus spray/gold bond/zeasorb/colloidal silver/elidel/terrasil, literally EVERYTHING. I've also changed detergents and wear 100% cotton loose fitting boxers with an all natural antifungal soap. It's really taken a toll on my sleeping patterns and psyche in general... my girlfriend broke up with me because of it and i feel like I am at the end of my rope here....
Does anybody have any idea as to what is happening... please...
So, I assume the doctors have tested to see if this is bacterial, fungal, viral, allergenic, or cancerous? Gotta rule those out before anything else is done. Is it possible they can do a biopsy? Keep detailed notes of what the doctors are suggesting, diagnosing, and prescribing, as well as what your symptoms are.
Urgent care doctors are only gonna treat something urgent, which is the clinic equivalent of an emergency room. You cannot get good follow-up treatment for this if you don't have a primary care physician who, in turn, should give you more options as to what to do. If one dermatologist does not know what it is or if the treatment is not working, then it only makes sense to ask who else in the field of dermatology can you see who would know about this. Try to take this as high as you can. Maybe there's a medical school, where you could be referred out to for academic physicians to see and venture to guess what is going on.
You could try Eastern/Chinese medicine to see if there are any topical solutions, as well. You could also try researching homeopathy treatment, but be very careful with the home remedies they may suggest. Personally, I'd use homeopathy as a last resort (I have this notion a lot of it is quackery and snake oil charlatans).
The worst thing you can do is get depressed, as this will solve nothing.
