Hi everyone,
I too had the same problem like the op. I just went to the doctor and he diagnosed it as scabies- a mite infection. And gave an permethrin cream and soap. He asked me to use the cream for 4 days continuously at night so not to miss any chance. And use the soap. I was skeptical and applied it only on my groin and believe me the itching stopped almost immediately. So next day I applied it all over the body and the icthing was almost gone. The itch now was only due to the open wounds not the mites. Then I stopped using the cream. But suddenly after 1 week I noticed scars on my hand indicating mite movement so I realised it as scabies and applied the cream for three days continuously. Now feel better without any sort of itch anywhere. But don't know if it would return. Forgot to mention I soon as I realised it was scabies I started to wash my clothes, bedsheets daily to prevent reinfestation. So that's my story so I strongly suggest you to use permethrin 5 percent cream and see if it gives any relief. It usually takes 1 week to find improvement and multiple applications.
Thank you

I'm going through the same exact thing. I believe its a fungal infection, I've used cortisone, jock itch cream, and also I try and clean it while in the shower so it doesn't get infected and sometimes it gets better But I can't stop scratching so it just comes right back and it hurts and it's itches. Ive seen a doctor but just prescribed me with fungal infection cream. So try that and keep it clean and try your hardest not to keep scratching it.

I've had success with baby oil in the shower and just making sure that I am well lubricated at all times, so basically I just use plenty of lotion and baby oil to keep the skin moisturized and that is what has been best for me, good luck to everyone.

Helllllooooooo community. I've had this problem since I was a child(still do) and I think I have found my problem. The issue comes from scratching and irritating the problem area. I have also tried everything above. The dermatologist gave me medicine but I continued to scratch more than ever. The scratching for me seems to be caused by stress and lack of motivation to not scratch. I will continue to use Gold Bond medicated baby powder and any 1% anti-fungal/cortisone cream. Thank you so much for all of the motivation as I am not alone in this (endless) battle.

Research candida, I've had the exact issue for nearly 3 months. Baby powder, goldbond powder, Lotriman type creams all have provided temporary relief, but if it is a yeast infection as I'm fairly certain that's what i have, you have to treat the cause. I've been "detoxing" for 3 weeks now and have seen tremendous improvement, itchy flare-ups are less and less frequent... and less severe. Eating and drinking some of the items and herbs that kill candida and yeast isn't always pleasant, but FAR more tolerable than what I dealt with prior. Hope that helps.

I have had a similar condition for well over a decade or two that never seemed to completely go away.
couldnt get doctors to even look at it (WTF) except one time a dermatologist did and gave me some sample creams that didn't work - he didn't seem to be able to explain what it was even, something about little guys burrowing in my skin like mites or scabies (but was neither)... useless I tell ya.
Anyway, I think when It first started I was in new york out on long island and I think a spider or bug had bit me in the taint area but I can't confirm that. But it was something I considered to blame on the reoccurring itching over the years.
Over the years, tried all sorts of remedies - corn starch, hydrocodone cream, coconut oil, lavender oil, oil of oregeno, other jock itch creams - gold bond powder/lotions you name it, I probably tried it. It was usually worse with stress and summertime when it was hot and humid. And at night - would sometimes wake up scratching - which of course would cause the skin to become raw and break into sores - almost always the exact same spot too - thus blaming it on the result of that spider bite that unfortunately wasn't the radioactive-superhero gifting kind.
I even think I caused permanent scarring by putting straight bleach soaked qtip on it to alleviate the itching a few times- not recommended. Also, hot shower followed by hot blow dryer would feel good, but injure and dry out the skin. Then I switched to just using super hot water - which would give temporary relief.
I had speculated that the chlorine in the water could aggrevate it but never invested in a chlorine shower filter. Also swtiched detergents thinking maybe that was a cause. wear boxer/briefs 100% cotton and wondered if the fabric was a cause.
After ALL this time thinking I was permanently stuck with this horrible condition I seem to have come across a successful remedy. Unfortuneately I can't narrow it down to which thing has been the successful solution.
First I started taking iodine from infowars for several months daily as the bottle recommends. Second, I did a sugar fast two times - first time was 2 weeks - no added sugar (however I did still have fruit and carbs). Thirdly, after a recent dermatologist appointment where I was diagnosed with ecema? or psoriasis? - I forget which - on my leg, I was prescribed with this huge bottle of cream. Triamcinolone cream .1% - which says for groin use only if doctor recommended - but I used it anyway. Skin no longer itches at all, has healed 80%, but bleaching scar seems to still be there, but maybe that'll go away completely too. Basically, I can't believe I finally found a solution for me, who is generally in very good health. So to summarize:
1. iodine supplement - the infowars is a specific kind of iodine - research it
2. try dietary change/ sugar fast for a week or two - great for your health regardless
3. triamcinolone cream - requires doctor's script I think.

hope this info helps some other sufferers of mysterious itching conditions ---

I never post on threads I find for research but after going thru this I had to share a cure.
I'm a big boy 27years old 5'10 270 and this worked for me.

Ok so I read every single comment due to the fact i couldn't sleep because of the same symptoms. I used Neosporin powder itch cortisone lamasill and ezchema cream none really work. I would be at work and have such a bad itch I used hand sanitizer to make it stop and have a sharp burn feel for minutes. I couldn't sleep work shake hands with the president nor be intimate with my female friend.

After reading this page someone said buy blue star ointment your a life savior and when you're in Massachusetts let me know I owe you some drinks. Place this on fresh out the shower. For 3 minutes you'll feel a nice burn. After that apply it at night. Within 3days you'll be golden keep using though I'm on my 5th day using a moisturiser to keep the bad boys fresh. I also got the the a&d diaper rash cream for mid day which is great.
Wash your area daily as well with unscented soap.

Raised pimple-like bumps and swollen glands may be symptoms of HSV2. You should definitely see a doctor.
