Hello there,
I've had that problem myself man this usually occurs due to poor ventilation or sweating which causes a small fungal infection in the groin regions, its really common but it creep you out
There's a way to heal this follow these steps regularly each day
-Properly wash you groin
-Dry pat you groin skin completely before putting underpants
-Try to wear pure cotton loose wear pants
- Use this dermatological product its a magic :D use either any of them they both do the same job , its a cream called Cosovate
or better get the cream called Diprovate
make sure now to put it one before having oral sex cause it will taste horrible xD
Hope it helps :)

Hello, I have had the same problem twice now. And yes, it is horrible especially at night, I find it very difficult to sleep etc. The first time I had it, I thought it was a normal itch that would go away after and hour or so... but then my scrotum became red, and I had cuts from scratching, which was obviously very painful. I tried putting cream on; but it didn't work. Then I tried another thing. I was told mixing Olive leaf extract, and Olive oil together (a certain about of each of them.) would help. It stung a little at the beginning, but them after a week or so it was completely gone! Now, roughly 4 months later I have it again. I am trying the same thing again, and hope it will heal. I hope your pain and itchiness goes away.

Upper post continued: Just wanted to add that I have visited 4 different dermatologists, some say its nothing whilst others call it red scrotum syndrome.. Spent over 1000 euro on visits and products.. And by the way protopic helps but cannot be used long term.. Just want to know if there's a solution to this debilitating problem.

Hi everyone

I've been monitoring this thread closely and now feel like its time for to share my story.

In June 2014, I noticed an awful smell coming from my inner thighs a lot of moisture in my underwear, much more than just usual sweat with itchy and flaky skin. I googled these symptoms and the first thing to come up was jock itch. I took myself to the GP and he concurred with google, went on to prescribe some daktacort which I applied promptly to my inner thighs. Suffice to say the infection went away after a few days but then a few more days later I began to feel an itch on my scrotum. Without consulting the GP I went and applied the daktakort to my scrotum believing the jock itch infection had spread to this area. I now regret making this decision as ever since, I have been dealing with a bright red and itchy scrotum. In Sept 2014 I was then prescribed a weeks course of miconazole which did not make any difference.

Come March 2015 and I was prescribed ketoconazole shampoo which I have been using 1-2 times a day in the shower. Still no difference.

What am I dealing with here? My balls itch like hell, the hair folicles are more visble on the testes and there is a distinct border around the region where the inner thigh/groin stops and the scrotum begins.

Most recently I was prescribed 2 weeks course of doxycycline having asked the GP about this drug, after reading that it has been successful in the treatment of red scrotum syndrome for others. I am yet to start taking these as I am concerned they might wreak havoc on my stomach so I am just trying to clean my diet up a bit before I start taking it.

I have had an insane itch for almost 10 years now, since I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes. It started on the sides of my scrotum, and even that area between the scrotum and my rear end. I did a LOT of scratching and I have scars to prove it. In recent months the itching has gotten more intense and the skin on my scrotum sometimes burns and/or aches. Right now, I feel like I have a ingrown hair or something on the right side that stings when I walk around (I should probably get a hand mirror so I can see whats going on). In the past, some Cortizone 10 and some Advil would work, but lately this seems like its worse than ever. I think I may try the Cortizone/Goldbond Power suggestion next.

As I don't see many people here who have tried the herbal way. Here is one: Put 4 gloves of garlic in a mortar and pestle. Make it into a paste, apply it directly on to the itch. It will sting, like someone has lite a fire down there. Leave it 30 mins. Wash it off. You will get instant relief, but the fungi is still waiting down there. Do this every 4 hours. It will start to dry and scab. Garlic is extremely anti fungal, especially fresh stuff. If you want even stronger paste, put a red onion with a little water in with the garlic. You can look at the qualities of garlic and onion on many websites. I know it sounds really weird and gross, but it words, and if you have chronic jock itch, you should be willing to do it.

Its usually caused by the thin skin of the scrotum being dry and flaky. I have found the best way to cure both the itch and the dryness is by rubbing the inside of the skin of a banana all around the dry itchy area. Do this twice a day and see how things are after a few days. After years of itch and scratch and soreness, this appears to have settled down my scrotum. It definitely worked for me.

I too suffer from the same thing. I'm 22, healthy, athletic, and sexually active and I also work long hours in the heat and my scrotum will get red, itchy and tender. This happens because of an excessive amount of sweat and minimal ventilation to that area. When this happened the first time I went and saw my doctor who told me that it was a male yeast infection, swamp crotch, sweat rash etc... they're all really the same thing. He prescribed me with Econazole Nitrate Cream, 1% and I'd suggest trying to receive the same from your doctor. This cream, mixed with the basic Shop Rite, Walgreens, CVS...any convenience store brand corn starch baby powder clears up my swamp crotch in usually 5-7 days and prohibits it from coming back for a long time. 1 word of advice, if you are a person like myself who often sits with their laptop on their lap, do not do this anymore. The heat from the laptop can help the growth of fungal infections. Also, make sure your package is clean and dry as much as possible.
