Hello,

I’ve just started the Dukan diet two weeks ago and it’s definitely not been easy to keep up with eating only the allowed food from the list, but since I’ve already lost almost 3 lbs I feel like the Dukan diet is worth the effort.

I know I can expect this weight loss rate to slow down, as I start eating carbs again and especially since I’m just too tired to really put all that much into exercise right now, but if anyone who’s been on this diet can tell me - can I expect to keep the weight off once I’m done with the diet?

Hi,

the Dukan diet is not much different when it comes to it's long term results than any other diet that is focused mainly around excluding one big food group, like carbs in this case. You'll keep the weight off as long as you more or less stick to the diet rules, which can get pretty hard in the long run.

The most successful way to get the weight off and keep it off is if you rethink and change your eating habits and lifestyle in general. Eating less calories or less of a certain food group is just one part, you also need to have some permanent way to burn calories you eat, such as exercise, even if it's only 30 minutes of walking daily.
