Hi I have shortness of breath. The pain in my low back rose up my spine and between my shoulders. I have chest pain too on and off. But certainly short of breath. I have h/a shoulder and neck pain, along with eye pain. I did a blood patch and spinal tap. Unfortunately I was sick at time of procedures and Im afraid I have a spinal infection. I dont know what I should do. I did an Mri and it showed a large cyst on my lumbar and thats where I feel great pull when I bend as well as tenderness at the site of blood patch. The blood patch injection site got red and inflammed several weeks after the procedure. Now its been two months and like I said I am short of breath and have bowel problems. Another spinal tap to find out if there is an infection is what I am thinking but its also the last last thing I want to do. What if its from the cyst? What if its from arach? what if its and infection?
i have so much pain, it was 4 doctors and attempts over 6 hours, i feel violated as they kept prodding whem in was in pain
I'm only 20 and I had a spinal tap done due to a possible aneurysm about 6 months ago and still have sharp sharp lower back pain and it hurts all the time and my doctor ordered physical therapy for me but its not helping seems like its getting worse as time goes on hoping my life doesn't get stopped because of my back pain hurting so bad.
recently had L4 epidural steroid injectin because of ruptured disc. procedure horribly painful at upper part of left thigh. developed hiccups after. anyone else noticed this?
You can die from this. My friend's niece passed away this afternoon after having this procedure done 3 weeks ago. She has a 4yr old daughter and 3week old son. She was 28. She went back to the ER but was told to take Tylenol. She was in so much pain last night she had to go to the hospital via EMS and died this afternoon. Loss of spinal fluid. Please make it a point to see your Dr ASAP if you're experiencing any kind of pain.
hi its been a long time i posted under DB and dayne i lost the page but just found it. my hip is now fine. after my pysio i hope some of you got it. and are not still suffering from the deep bone feeling aches in the hip lower back!!!
Why would you tell this girl tthis? Really? You are not a doctor and you have no right to tell her she is suffering from this horrid problem. It will pass with time. Everyone can have back problems form time to time and the trauma of the needle through the muscle could have cause some long lasting pain. My back is fine now.
I had a LP 1 month ago. This procedure was done at my doctor's office (neurologist), and durring the procedure I passed out. With an hour I had a headache and vomiting. The headache and back pain was there if I was not laying flat on my back. I was unable to even get up to use the bathroom and 2 days later was in the hospital for a bood patch procedure. Right after the patch the headache/back pain and nausea went away.
It is now one moth later and the pain in my spine is HORRIBLE. I also have Firbromyalgia and am used to pain. I am on fentanyl patch 25 microgm/hour and also break through meds, 7.5/325 hydromorphone and none touch them the pain.
I see a new neurologist on May 1st as this neuro fails to give me a Dx when he has already filled out my FMLA for probally MS and has given me no meds.....
Is spinal pain, headache and issues with bright light causing headaches too, 1 month after a LP? I had to take yesterday off work with no pay under my approved FMLA..... I also have never had this type of pain prior to the LP....
Thanks

Treatment for Cerebrospinal Fluid Leaks (CFL) caused from or symptoms of Spinal Taps
In most cases, the cerebrospinal fluid leak will heal on its own; bed rest for a few days is the most common recommendation, as well as pain relievers to treat associated headaches. The greatest concern of a CSF (Cerebrospinal Fluid) leak is developing meningitis, which is a life-threatening bacterial infection, so antibiotics may be prescribed.
Pneumocephalus, which is a buildup of air within the cranial cavity, is another life-threatening complication associated with CSF leaks.
same issue here ksf. please tell me what you found out. I had no headaches, but one thing different they didn't tell me I had to lay flat on my back. because within 6 hours after they were running heart test. mri, cat scans. and x-rays but not of spinal cord . this has been almost a year. and my back is getting worse ..
