I have had VERY heavy periods since I started getting them at age 11. I am now 21, and lately they seem to be getting worse. Before, when I would use the restroom it was as if someone dumped an entire bottle of dark red dye in the toilet. From time to time it will still be like that, but I've been releasing blood clots more instead. The blood clots vary in size; dime size, half dollar, and sometimes the size of my palm! It's very painful when they come out, but more uncomfortable when they don't come out. I feel very heavy and can tell when one is coming, but sometimes I can't get it out; especially if it's a "smaller" one. I try to push it out and nothing. Since I feel so heavy, I never truly feel clean; no matter how often I change my pad. I carry baby wipes with me. I use two wipes to clean myself, but instead of just wiping myself clean, I have to insert my finger in my vagina (with the wipe) to pull the blood clots out. Otherwise it will peak out a bit and just stain and drip on my pad making me feel even dirtier. My period lasts 7-10 days, I'm sure that's a reasonable amount of time, but it's heavy throughout the entire time. I always feel miserable and weak when I'm on my period; I never have energy. I know blood clots are common, but should it be happening this bad?
