8 weeks today. Confirmed from ortho last tuesday that in was non-bearing Lisfranc sprain with potential micro fracture.
Injured on 9/27/14. Thought it wasn't a big deal. Waited a week to get x-rays. Came back negative. Continued to walk around on it. Even went kiteboarding 3 times and sailboat racing twice. Had sharp pain with certain movements kiteboarding, but enjoyed myself. Started PT in my second week. Many maniuplations and unuseful treatment. 4 weeks I recieved diagnostic ultrasound. Partial tear in tarsometatarsal was found as well as potential microfracture. The ligament tear could not have been Lisfranc becasue he was scanning top of my foot. 5 weeks had an MRI. Diagnosis was lisfranc with microfracture. 6.5 weeks saw an Ortho. Confirmed lisfranc and had WB x-ray done. Said no displacement and put me in a boot for four weeks.
Im concerned about potential damage done before diagnosis. Also when I stand on both feet my big toe has more seperation between it and my first toe compared to my uninjured foot. Im a very active person and this injury is really scaring me. Will the ligament heal and reduce the minimal displacment? Was it crutial for me to be in a boot immediately after the injury?
Non-displaced* Lisfranc sprain
Thanks for the input! Fingers crossed the ligament will heal properly! Good luck to both of you!
