I just returned from a whole day at the ER trying to figure out what is causing the pain in my lower right abdominal area (near my hip bone but deeper).  CT scan showed a cyst on the OPPOSITE ovary, fibroids on my uterus.  (Didn't think either of those would cause the pain in the lower right area however.  Urine test was normal, no cause for concern in the blood test either.  Didn't want to wait and then have my appendix rupture, but they didn't see any cause for concern there (although others said they had good test results and then their appendix ruptured).

I have no other symptoms... sometimes temp around 100 F, other days down to 97 F.  Weird. I also have had some pain in my right side of my back, generally in one spot though.  Wondered if anyone else had some weird back pains making it sometimes difficult to walk.  Walking sometimes VERY painful on the abdominal area mentioned before. Not overweight, physically fit and would like to get back to the gym.  Chiropractor also puzzled. Ordered an Xray and things looked fine. Never had back problems before... the pain radiates to the front.

Spent a fortune at the ER today and have no more information than I started with... plus I still hurt. Looking for some hope & answers if possible.

I like the comment someone made about drinking plenty of water... my body does do weird things when I am not drinking enough fluids, so I am going to begin there.  Maybe others should start with the water idea too.

Hi I've been suffering with lower left abdominal pain for almost a year now. It all seem to start after I was desperate for a wee & had to wait to go. The pain has been excrushiating & I'd compare it when it's at it's worst to labour contractions. The pain has continued & seems to be at its worst the week before, durin & after menstruating. Leavin me approx 2-3 days of a full ache. The pain gets so intense it makes me vomit. Also it makes me sweat & very clammy. I've had several tests over the past 10mnths & been admitted twice. Had bloods, ultrasound, laparoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, urine. Been given many antibiotics & pain killers but to no avail. As the months of pain go on I noticed changes in my bowel movements which initially I thought would be down to the pain killers causin mainly constipation & some times diarrhoea. My belly gets bloated which gets incredibally uncomfortable. I also suffer with lower back pain which I've had on & off since givin birth. I have been tested for endometriosis, crohns etc. my current diagnosis is IBS possibly brought on by stress...yes I've been very stressed but as time goes on day by day the pain drags u down. Each day is a struggle just doin minor things. I'm currently on amitriptyline 75mg dose p/d & after 3mnths of increasing the dose it has eased the pain a little. I say a little as I don't feel like I need to be rushed to A&E as often. Still hav bad days but they are definately not as bad as they have been. I also take senna daily, which doesn't always work so I resort to havin an enema once or twice within 3 wks which does help relieve pressure building. I'm still not well or fit enough to get back to work which I need to ASAP as I need the money (more stress) it's a viscous circle. Do I have IBS? Possibly, but I'm not convinced...I wish everyone on here all the best. Chronic Pain can & does make you very low in mood at times. Hang in there guys xx

I have been having chronic aching pain in my lower left groin area that radates through my lower left back.  It has been going on randomly for yhears, but now seems to be and all day everyday thing. I have had a vaginal ultrasound,an upper and lower GI series, and the only thing that was found was gastritis. The Dr. did a biopsy and I am awaiting the results this week. No one seems to know what is going on with me. The pain has gone from occaisional, [every three or four months] several years ago, to a constant aching, burning pain. My next move is to have a Cat Scan but I don't hold much hope that that will be the answer either.  It is very aggrivating and hinders my abiliy to work at times. PLEASE HELP???

I went to a holistic doctor and found that my abdominal pain was due to inflamation in the lumbar vertebrae. Acupuncture of my back cleared up my abdominal pain. It was radiating from the lumbar to my lower abdomen. who knew?

I am a man and I am having the lower pain in my abdomen and it radiates all the way around my waist. Its painful and hurts to take a deep breathe. I would suggest everyone that is feeling this get a cat scan of your colon as it may be Diverticulitis. This an inflammation of the colon.
