I am having similar problems when I smoke. It all began after having what I think was a urinary tract infection. Then everytime I smoked, it made it very hard to urinate.
Now when I smoke, I smoke just a little. Too much and I start feeling like I can't breathe and I start tripping out. I get sudden pains in my upper abdomen and right below my belly button. I also get dizzy at times. Smoking a little only gives me a bloated stomach that makes me feel full and I do not eat as many munchies any more. But when I do, I get bad reflux and I can feel the acid come up my throat.
Maybe I should kick back on the weed intake and see if I notice any differences. I think I will try that, maybe that will work. I've had the bloating for a couple of months now.
What is funny though is that alcohol does the opposite for me and thins me out. But I wake up feeling like sh*t. hahaha, I guess I'll go clean and try that for a change.

I have been using for many years. About a year into smoking (when my habit became stronger) I started noticing stomach pains almost every morning. Cramps, naseau and such. I went to the doctors for many months and tried many things, but unfortunately quitting was the only thing that helped.

I believe that marijuana is a powerful drug as well as a powerful medicine. While I do not doubt that smoking "weed" has caused many people withdrawal symptoms, I know that taking a generous dose of anything psychoactice (alcohol, opiates, weed, lsd) will leave you with a hangover if you are not used to said substance, and more importanly, the dosage. Marijuana is definately on the low end of the hangover spectrum. Everyone reacts differently, but when I first started smoking I would get a majoritivly negative feeling the next day, we would describe as "burnt out". It is similar to a bad alcohol hangover, ie nausea, vomit is rarely possible, but also it would seem like you were "out of it." I learned, the burnt out feeling reduces the more my body got used to the weed, and it could also be cured by smoking weed. Large issues are tolerance and method.
Again, this is just my experience, but it does the body good to take about 2 days every month and don't smoke. It helps keep tolerance down and and seems to "clean" up my high afterwards. Weed has also always provided relief from stomach ailments for me.
I also think, much is to be said about the kind of marijuana, and the method of ingestion. For example, a shwag blunt to two people will give me a better chance of feeling burnt out, whereas a bubble hash hit out of a vaporizer leaves a very "clean" high that almost never causes me to "burn out."
When it comes to chronic, ie. kindbud, sensamilla, etc, there are again varying highs for varying strains. Indica's are known for "knockout buzzes" that nearly put you to sleep. Sativa's are known for a clearer, more creative high, often accompanied by increased energy, as apposed to the indica's K.O. affect. Again, much is to be said about quanity and method, but strain matters the most. I don't smoke weed that has seeds in it, any signs of mold, smells bad, or Id on't like for whatever reason. Keep your standards high. For those of you that can't find chronic, try instead to, make hash, buy a vapo, or try brownies.
The bottom line, it's a free country, (PLEASE NOTE: In almost all of the US MJ IS ILLEGAL) smoke if want to smoke, don't if you don't. If you think it's causing you an ailment the best idea would be, quit for a week and see if the problem a. goes away, b. gets worse, or c. stays the same, reevaluate accordingly.
For me, MJ makes me hungry, reduces stress, causes excess phlem, reduces nausea, and makes me feel socialble. It is also important to note that I also accept long term consequences unknown to me, but often vaporize so I don't worry. I weigh the positives and the negatives and I'd rather smoke most days than not. But that is just my opinion.
PS. Prohibition doesn't make sense, ask any economist you know, or read an economy book. Personally though, if I were to smoke daily, as I do, I would know my product, back and forth, use the internet (try erowid.com or totse, or even google,) and check out the Marijuana grow books, David King's "Cannabible," grow websites, or an issue of high times. This may help know what kind of weed you smoke, and better where it was grown. Weed is actually very similar to alcohol in many ways, think of it like this, a liter of cheap vodka will have a very different effect than one grey goose martini. Just as a shwag blunt and northern lights vapo are very different highs. Smoke the good stuff if you can.

Hey, so I used to smoke casually with friends. It was just a nice thing to do on weekend. Starting a 5 months ago, I started having a problem where whenever I smoked I would vomit uncontrollably. I don't think it's an allergy because my throat has been heavy for 5 months now, so I know it will happen again. Does anybody know what this is, because I've never heard of it, and it's really just a bother because it make every day life just a little uncomfortable.

Annoying but strange is that I've been smoking weed and resin for about 8 years and its been a blast. But recently about maybe 3 weeks ago smoking resin has caused me to loose my hearing in my 1 and only good ear and i have no idea why or why now anyway. It goes about 5 to 10 min after and lasts about a day and a half. Weed has never had any effects on my ears, just resin. Maybe cause resin is just plain nasty, think sticky nasty tar off roofs. No more resin for me
and another thing
never had any stomach pains or any pains

marijuana does not cause stomach problems....it does alter appetite, but if you actually looked up something about marijuana then i wouldn't be schooling you right now...cannabis contains anti inflammatory properties which the only exception would be someone who is allergic to it.....and if your allergic, you would know....you would not make it past the first hit....also...aren't cancer patients given marijuana in over fifteen states so that they can bypass nausea during chemotherapy....also its pain relieving properties aka increased dopamine intake has been preferred by cancer and ms patients for pain over oxcontin which is a synthetic opiate...some of you probably have ulcers....some may have chrons...others..allergies...even food allergies...one of you seems to have just drank to much been highly inebriated by both...and all of you dont want to accept something could be wrong with you and the gov't was right...marijuana is killing people...making them go crazy....

I read just the first few posts. I have chronic stomach problems, and most of the time its fine. i know for a fact that to much nicotine from chain smoking after a night drinking will kill my stomach. I have a bad stomach ache now, and its so bad that during my date i had to take a *** 6 times in less than 4 hours. I smoke pot regularly (1-2x daily) and the past two days i haven't smoked, and i thought that maybe i could be having withdrawle symptoms by course of a series of stomach achs. I play sax, so i get teh whole not breathing in your stomach thing. I also think that the tar and resin that we smoke, and all smoke in fact being ingested, can cause tar and resin build up in the linging of the stomach and cause severe stomach aches reusulting in excessive bowel movements in a short period of time. Here is is, and i just need plain true data by a doc.
Thanks,

I ended up at this page because I google'd "cannabis causes ulcer's"
I have been smoking pretty full-time for over a year now (almost everyday). Recently I've been feeling bad, It starts with bad feeling in my stomache, then I pretty much begin to panic, (wonder what is wrong with me, start to get more and more worried) I've never had a panic attack before, but I think this is like a mild cousin.
I went to the doc... I was told I have an ulcer. (I did not mention the smoking)
After reading this thread I now think it's because of the weed. Some of the posts above sound like VERY similar feelings.
I'm not here to telll anyone how to live, and I'm no doctor...
So... I'm going to quit, If the problems go, then I'll know... Update to come in a week or so... I hope this helps.

I have a theory about the stomach pain, and it ties into what your doctors are saying about ulcers. The symptoms you are exhibiting are similar to the symptoms of ulcers because, I believe, that pot causes your stomach to produce acid. This acid overload is also what causes the munchies, people with ulcers are frequently seen eating something snacky so as to absorb the excess acid; it is your natural basic instinct to do so. I have also noticed that when I eat due to "munchies" and in my case often time stomach pain, the pain subsides and I believe it to be because the aforementioned natural basic instinct is working as it's supposed to.
Just a thought

Actually, if you did two minutes worth of research you would see that weed was shown to bind to receptors in the stomachs of rats, inhibiting acid production in the stomach. I have had an ulcer for over a year now. I have quit drinking and smoking cigs, which was very hard for me. I have been on protonix for 3 months now and my ulcer is still not gone. I never had problems with my ulcer after smoking before, and it even allowed me to eat when I was in too much pain to do so. Recently however, I have noticed that after I smoke my ulcer hurts worse. This is really upsetting for me, I have been a chronic smoker for the past 6 years of my life, and enjoy every moment of it. I guess I will have to quite and see if this helps:o(

I have a similar problem to some the previous posts, I am 28 years old, I used to smoke pot regularly (2-3 times a day) for about 3 years straight and I had a blast, no medical problems or anything, just reduced inhibitions, which isn't too bad. But circumstances came up to where I had to quit smoking, I joined the army for 6 years, got my college paid for and am now a full time student. The day after I got out of the army I started smoking again, (2-3 times a day) only this time around i only smoked Hydro and I would always take really big hits, and I notice I always burp up smoke after I hit the bong I don't know if this could be the issue, a few months went by and I felt great, but a few months later I started waking up at night with stomach pains, they weren't too distracting at first, but I noticed that after a couple of months they still hadn't gone away. So i quit for a couple of days and I didn't get any cramps, but pot is very inspirational to me it helps me work, so I started smoking again and a couple of weeks later I started getting the cramps again, I have continued smoking pot for the last 4 months while I have been trying to deal with cramping, but in the past couple of weeks the cramps have gotten worse, I'm having to sit on the toilet almost 10 times a day with very loose stools. I'm quitting again and I'll see what happens, but I'm wondering if anyone else thinks there is some truth to some of the previous posts about smoke and resin getting into your stomach, I might try another method of smoking, cause all my friends smoke just as much as me, and none of them have had stomach problems, then again none of them hit the bong nearly as hard as I hit it, they call me the milk man cause I can fill a 3 foot bong with pure white smoke and inhale it all, this may be a bad skill in retrospect, but if anyone has some helpful advice I would really apprieciate it, and I know the most obvious solution might be to just quit, but that is a last resort to me. Thanks a lot.
