I used to smoke pot all of the time. I also worked out all of the time. I now still work out all of the time but I basically just smoke now in the evenings after I have finished everything I need to do for the day. There is no way that pot can make you stronger. It also will not make you weaker. If it helps you focus go for it. Working out is about which way suits you the best and gives you the best results. I find that it can help put me in the zone sometimes and other times I get in the gym and don't feel like doing anything. Basically what I am trying to say is pot will not have an affect on your workouts.

I find that smoking at the end of my day relaxes me and makes it easier for me to get a good night sleep which is very important for any serious weight lifter. I do not see a reason to stop smoking for weight lifting.

And stop saying it is addictive to everyone. I could never smoke again and I would be fine. You just have to decide for yourself if it is for you.

This is absolutely untrue. It doesn't help you build muscle mass whatsoever. Marijuana has no protein or any other nutrient that would otherwise assist or promote the growth of muscles. Sorry to break it to you.

Ok man, it is called "Lacing". It means you add something to something. It is done world wide. People put chemicals / other drugs to it. Some chemicals would be to make it grow faster to sell more. Yes some people put Coke/Crack in weed. If you dont know, but Weed Laces it self. After awhile, Mold grows on the weed. It can make you see stuff (hallucinations). And for the person who said it's addicting, it is not. it is more of a habit then that. it is just another plant. And yes i smoke weed.

Try it for yourself I guess. I've exercised on and off pot and noticed little difference. If smoking pot makes you want to run, then run, lift, or whatever else you feel like :-).

After finally overcoming the peer pressure of my buddies, as we usually smoke every chance we get, I came up with a healthier solution without ridding of THC in my life. This by all means is nothing new to the world but perhaps in this forum. I first narrowed my smoking habits tremendously and only did it occasionally, as in once a week. After a time, I realized my sinuses had not improved much at all and smoking pot still puts cancer carcinogens and other toxins into your body through the lungs. I went to Urban Outfitters and picked up a Marijuana Cookbook, an epiphany for my health. I now consume THC by means of food only. If you grind,de-stem,(I leave the seeds due to their health qualities) saute in butter, strain, you have an ingredient to suit the best of meals. Spaghetti or pasta, fettuccine, brown-butter asparagus, hell you name it! YES, you can be conservative with your stash, DO NOT BE GREEDY, You don't ever need as much as you initially think you do. Especially if it is only you eating. YES the high will take a bit longer, but it lasts longer, its more a body high, its healthier, and its discreet.! OH did I forget to mention BROWNIES. MMM. Anyhow, I heavily recommend satisfying your THC desires through food consumption, it is holy. Give it a shot!

I have read through a lot of these posts and there are quite a few dumb things said. I have been working out for years and also smoking for just as long. I have tried going to the gym both ways and I know for myself that weed is one of the best ways to get results. If I go to the gym without smoking my workout will not be as productive. I focus more, have much more stamina, and in result I can lift more weight.
I've heard that smoking decreases testosterone, but I'm 27, never touched steroids, and the only supplements I take are kre-alkyline and omega-3's and my sex drive is just as strong as it was when I was 20 if not stronger.....especially after a good workout.

None of this is correct. Please learn some facts before posting. Most of the supposed health risks regarding Marijuana/THC have been proven wrong. It does not cause cancer. It is not addicting - there are not any chemicals that cause you to need more, as you might need for alcohol/nicotine. It does not decrease sperm count and lead to infertility - if this were the case you would see roughly 25 million sterile men due to THC. Marijuana increases my sexual pleasure, so "I don't know what you're smokin." Please find one case of someone dying because of marijuana... you can't. In the thousand of years of its existence it has never directly caused a single death due to medical circumstances. There are more deaths due to caffeine, ibuprofen, and cough syrup than due to marijuana.

smoking marijuana before exercising is good and bad. I would have a better weightlifting workout when high b/c i had a extra boost like previously said. However when a Coach or teacher would come by and talk to me during my workout, my eyes would be dazed and i would smell like smoke. I would always play it off and say its the Steam room.LOL. However during my experience doing a cardio workout like running or playing a intense sport i would find my reaction time much slower in that i wouldnt be able to cut or turn as fast. Also being high and make u have small blackout episodes where u dont place body feet in the right positon and endure an injury. I recently sprained my ankle extrmely bad from this experience. I would recommend smoking before a weightlifting workout but not before cardio or intense sport workout.
if your high after your workout and have the munchies then eat healthy , fruit,protein,salad, no candy or junk food as those foods will make u feel sicker the day after... Maintain a healthy diet when smoking to keep the right body.

i tried it before, i would do more reps and felt as if every strand of muscle was being used. i got the best results ever! and ever since wen i try to work out i get no results. so im going back to weight lifting while hi. only prob i ever had was my mouth was ridiculously dry

I know that when I'm NOT high and workout, I don't feel the same drive or have the same energy as I do when I AM high. If I smoke some weed or some hash right before I workout, I get focused and seriously pumped up to train as hard as I can. When I get home, I'm so hungry that I eat like a horse, and so far the results have been incredible!

first off i just wanna say dont believe all the hype marijuana is NOT a drug, it is a herb. u've never in ur life heard of ne body who O-Deed on weed never have never will but i will not get into all the details as to why it became illegal that is a discussion for another time. also, weed is not physically addictive one does not NEED to smoke weed whereas a 'crackhead's' body NEEDS crack.

Also, my work out felt much more intense i cud feel every little muscle in body (in the muscle group i was training of course)being activated as if for the first time. i think maybe it increases blood flow or improves oxygen levels sumhow but all i know is that i had some of the best sessions of my life after blazin one up. so apparently weed and weights go hand in hand!!
