You guys sticking up for weed are so wrong. Just trust me. I smoke. Three times a day. I know a LOT about it. It decreases testosterone because it messes up your rem sleep ( when most of your testosterone is released ) and there are many withdrawal symptoms such as insomnia and lack of appetite. Weed was my favorite thing in the world , now I wish I had never touched the stuff

I don't know if marajuana effects building muscle, but there is a reason i looked up this topic in the first place. I think if anything that the subject is worthy of research. I'm a heavy smoker,I have been on a excersise routine for the last 4 months and it does seem like i'm getting better results than i did working out in the past without weed. And this is when i was a lot younger too. If this is true however, i'm still not sure if its worth it. What some of the people are saying about the bad effects on this page are true from my experience also. It seems to mess up my rem which i think is the cause of nightime migranes that i get. And sometimes when i run out i get irratable or ever rage like. I'm still trying to quit even though i'm a little stonger.

I found this post pretty interesting and lots of ignorant replies.  From my experience I've been smoking marijuana almost daily since I was 17, I'm 26 now and used to be a competitive bodybuilder (never took steroids).  I always smoke weed before I lift or while I lift, with a good pre work out supplement and some music and I just get in the zone and can lift for 3 hours.  I'm 5'7 195, 7% bodyfat.  I think everyone reacts to drugs differently, if you've never smoked marijuana before you probably wanna smoke a hit and watch a movie or something, once you get used to it you can utilize the drug for your benefit, develop your mind and body connection, and it makes lifting a lot more fun after a bong rip 3 scoops of Jack3d and some dubstep.

No one here is going to know whether or not it's good for body building, the research simply does not exist. Read JAMA or any other highly regarded journals and you will not find this information.

Since marijuana was prohibited, very few studies have been allowed by the Federal Government. It's nearly impossible for any University in the US to get a license to grow a single plant for research. Anything you hear here is not going to be backed up by quality peer reviewed research, period. (Some studies are beginning, but we won't know until it's legal for any University to grow and study without restriction.) The research that is out there is by private entities commissioned by the Federal Government.

I highly suggest eating over inhalation. Just heat a tenth or 2 tenths of a gram (like a ground tsp or 2) in a teaspoon of veggie oil for a few seconds and put in your favorite food. It's stronger, lasts longer and doesn't hurt your lungs. Just use in moderation and mother earth will treat you well. Just remember, eating is much much stronger than smoking so take it easy at first. If you panic, just lay down and ride it out, you'll be okay.

I'm a former graduate student, a good citizen and pot has not impeded my success. Yes, if I got busted and society left me for dirt, I'd probably end up much different. The bottom line is tolerance will dispel the myths. I am not a criminal, quit treating me as such.

First of all, it is known today that weed is not dangerous in any way. Second, it does help with exercise. I always try to smoke a joint before i workout, and when i don't have any weed left, the workout will always be way harder.

Why don't All of you going against marijuana shut your mouth and get out of here weed has helped me gain close to 55lbs in the last 2 years and I am stoned before every workout which on my last deadlift I was very high And pulled 315 for a 3x7 with no problems it's all about the person it doesn't make everyone "idiots"

I agree I smoke once a day at the end of the day after all my work is done..I have smoked before lifting many times and it's an amazing feeling your music sounds better you have more energy, crazy pumps, focus, and great mind muscle connection!!! However I've been lifting for a while and weed has never impeded my strength or size gains

I've been smoking for years but only have been working out for about 3-4 years on and off. I always smoke before and after my workouts and it actually makes me concentrate more on the muscle mind connection. I believe as long as you don't abuse of it too much you can function right or maybe even better depending on how much in shape you are. know your tolerance and no your body. P. S. The guy who said it enhances cancer Risk Do your research
