I notice the burning pain, lasting for 3-5 minutes after intercourse and subsequent urination - and not recurring. It is worse the longer the interval between ejaculations, suggesting that some type of low level fungal infection may be responsible. The more frequent the ejaculation, the less severe the pain, so I guess I need to have intercourse every day. I guess I can handle that.

I had this same problem and saw a urologist. He diagnosed it as prostatitis which is a fairly broad term for inflamation of the prostate. He had me take 800mg of ibuprofin three times a day, force myself to pee every two hours and take hot baths.
The symptoms were almost gone in two days and completely gone after two weeks.

So after ready what I have heard it only happens to me when I havent peed before ejaculation or sex. so I think when you don't pee before sex or masturbation there is some kind of interference. Can anyone verify this theory?

I have a similar problem thats gone on since I was able to ejaculate. If I urinate immediately, or even an hour after ejaculating, the shaft of my penis has a burning sensation. The only thing that seems to calm this is if I drink lots of water afterwards and continue to urinate. This problem is very uncomfortable.

Hey everybody thank you all for the help, I noticed that if you drink lots of fluids, your pee is less acidic, and it does not hurt as much. No one here seems to have the same problem. When it happened to me, it lasted about a day. I'm not sure if there is something stuck in it, I can't tell my pedants I masturbate, so I need help.

I've been having a constant mild burning, sometimes sharp soreness inside at the tip of the urethra, lasting long periods of time. It usually starts hurting more AFTER I pee, and just recently, it kinda hurt after ejaculation. Oddly enough it feels better when I go pee, rather than it hurting during a lot of other more serious problems. I've been looking up every possible explanation, such as kidney stones, bladder infection, prostate enlargement, retrograde ejaculation, balanitis, prostatitis, but nothing matches up. But I have been masturbating a lot more frequently lately, usually twice a day. So this is what I found...

"Another ailment you may get from this is a type of erosion of the urethra. Think of the effects of Acid Reflux on the esophagus...frequent masturbation can begin a slow erosion process of the urethra, making it tender and overly sensitive. This can lead to painful urination, an uncomfortable slight burning sensation after urination, or general pain and discomfort in the penis. This may also be a sign of prostatitis, which is an enlargement of the prostate caused by both overactivity and underactivity. It can also cause inflammation, making it difficult to pass urine. It isn't acidic, but semen has certain properties that will cause the urethra to become tender if masturbation isn't controlled. The best way to recover from this is to abstain from ejaculation for a long period. Drinking water, and juices that promote a healthy urinary tract such as cranberry juice (particularly white cranberry juice), will help you. Avoiding soda and alcohol and caffeine also help, since these products are not good for the kidneys, and will also create a more concentrated urine which will likely be painful if you are experiencing this erosion. If you experience this problem, get used to it. It may take a long time to heal, and there is no real medication that can help. This is normally not life threatening, either."

On top of that, through out my life I've had a reoccurring sharp burning pain after I went pee, a couple years ago I found out that it was cranberry juice that was literally making me feeling like I'm peeing acid.. Does this happen to anyone else???

Okay here is a piece of my experience with this problem. I have the same thing happening but only when I masturbate after going to the gym- when I haven't showered yet or when I would use an old (used) towel to wipe. Also, when I have intercourse or masturbate right after showering. Sometimes, when I drank a lot of water and I have to piss like twice in one hour, would I then have sex or masturbate I would get this annoying itch as well.
So, my theory is that this has multiple causes. They are all more or less mentioned above. Just remember that this is a very sensitive area and you will have to "handle with care". That also means that you need to keep it fresh and clean but wait a while after you showered as the chemicals may also irritate. Since I obey these rules the itching went bye bye. But in some of your guys' cases antibiotics don't sound like a bad idea especially when the itching returns for implausible reasons.

I can't guarantee this is what you all are dealing with but the symptoms are SIMILAR to what you describe...

I went to see a urologist regarding a VERY similar problem (slight uncomfortable burning/irritation at tip of penis during and after ejaculation and urination). I was concerned it was an STD since I am sexually active. As it turned out, after visual inspections, urinalysis, and bloodwork all came back negative, I was correctly diagnosed with prostatitus (disease of the prostate gland...look it up). It is embarrassing but the doctor diagnosed it through a colon exam. The doctor was able to duplicate the irritation feeling in the tip of my penis when pushing on my prostate. As embarrasing as it was it was actually relieving to know it wasn't an STD and was treatable. I was prescribed Ciprofloxacin (free a Publix supermarket pharmacy) for 30 days. I'm halfway through the prescription and have noticed the symptoms getting better.

I hope this helps everyone one way or another.

Seems liek this problem is quite common, although hard to describe. Having read everyones posts I think the big causes may be urinating soon before or after masturbating, and over masturbation. I do both of these things, am a faitly busy person but still find the time to wank at least twice a day, usually three or four, and I also drink alot of fluids during the day so urinate quite a lot also. I'm going to try and cut back on masturbation, and wait at least half an hour after urinating to masturbate also and see if this helps. Also, oddly enough I never seem to get this burning feeling (very rarely if i do) after ejaculating during sex. strange. Will see if what I've decided to try works.

Hey guys,

I have had a similar problem for years now.

I had it when I was 16, now I'm 21.

It all started with me, always wanting to have a lean penis. Lol, I use to believe that gripping my penis from the shaft all the way to the top, would help me achieve a more bulkier penis. Pretty stupid if you asked me, but I was young, and getting action.

One day, I was getting a blowjob from my EX, and I was holding on to my shaft, and pushing up to the tip of my penis.

I remember that day I was super ultimate erected.

After ejaculation, I felt this weird (whoa, it never felt like this before). It wasn't a bad feeling, but it wasn't the awesome I saved the world feeling that I became accustomed to either.

Ever since then, I always had discomfort. Either ejaculating or urinating. It was always this weird feeling at the shaft of my penis.

If I don't ejaculate, longest I've went was 2 weeks, the weird feeling virtually disappears. But once I explode, it comes back again.

I think it has to do with the urethra, and swelling that will never go away. Simply because we urinate all the time, and because we explode (which causes more pressure)

I've had x-rays, uv-rays, and the doctors did not spot anything with my penis. I even did a prostate exam (wasn't a big deal), and I was perfectly healthy. Its probably urethra, getting inflammed, which doctors when examining believe its normal and looks fine. I think only way they can tell is if they enter a camera through the hole, and see the swelling.

Cheers
