just to answer the question for the person who wants to know if adderal and ambien is safe. best thing to do is call your doctor first please. ive been having occasional insomnia due to my adult add for the past 2 years now. i take adderal XR 20 mg in the morning and so on. as far as ambien its safe to take it with adderal as long as you know the adderal is worn off. as far as a sleep aid i wont recomend ambien before trying any other sleep meds. ambien is like the last resort because it is known to work very well for sleep. basically it will knock you out very fast and you will sleep like your literary dead. ambien is also highly addictive. and if taken for about a month can cause serious anxiety and panic attacks when you are taken off ambien that is why its a last resort med. if you have difficulty falling asleep try rozerem it is melatonin receptor agonists. It works similarly to melatonin, a natural substance in the brain that is needed for sleep. it is also non-habit forming for many people. ambien, xanax, ativan,valium are in the same family dont let people fool you about saying ambien is safer than xanax please ask you doctor if you want to know the truth..dont let Wikipedia or forms misguide you. try other sleep meds before ambien and if that doesn't work im sorry to say its your choice. remember withdrawal symptoms are very common in ambien. i took ambien for about a month occasionally and the week i got off of it wasn't very pleasant. i will sacrifice a few hours of sleep for not taking ambien again. now i am on rozerem and i also take it occasionally ex only on the days i know the next day will be a long day of school and work. i usally keep rozerem next to my bed with glass of water. i try to get myself as tired as possible without it then i take it for sleep, so i wont build a tolerance. hope this info help
A year and a half ago I took Ambien after being prescribed Adderall. What fallowed was one of the most bizarre experiences of my entire life. I began having very vivid life-like hallucinations. I was wide awake, but seeing and experiencing things that most people might experience in a full dream state. My gf was with me at the time and she had to endure the experience along with me. I was talking to people who were not there. One of the doors in our apartment turned into liquid and there appeared to be extraterrestrial aircraft floating outside our 8th floor downtown balcony window. It was literally like being in another dimension. Luckily she was there to talk me into going to bed at some point late in the evening. But, this was one experience I shall never forget. Needless to say it was the last.
um...so the people that called people an id**t for posting how they felt are retarded...and the people that say that they negate the effects (in other words you dont feel anything) are also retarded...uppers and downers taken together do not get rid of the effects you feel they usually amplify the euphoria and are hard on your body (heart mostly)...and when people just post their experiences i dont think people should rip on em...its educating other people...i have never done the combo but the knowledge should be out there for the recreational user like myself IMHO
If you take the Ambien first, then the adderal wil not have much if any effect. I know this from experience. After taking an ambient and then realizing have stuff to do, I take an adderal. This doesn't help. These are rx to me btw. Now if I take an ambient after the adderal has started working then you kinda get that feeling of meth and shrooms. I say meth because that's what most extacy pills are any more. Ayway You get a good body buzz and can produce visuals. Your heart goes into overdrive, so I don't recommend it. Just figured I'd pass on my personal experience.

I am not an MD. I take 15-22.5 mg adderral and 10 mg of ambien on weekdays. The doctor said it works for me, so I'm sticking with it. The Ambien really helps slow you down after taking the adderral, but you need at least 7 hours of sleep to get it out of your system. 8 hours- and you'll feel great! If you can't sleep, just take the adderral early in the morning, maybe that will help. Side note, I take lexapro for depression 10mg daily (3 years now). I think this also interacts with the adderral, but the dr. is watching me closely. I've been on these drugs and dosages for over a year and it has worked perfect for me (230 lbs). i, from experince think it is a bad idea. ambient already has a lot of side affects as it is and also makes u sleep walk, mixing it with something that keeps you awake anyway would probably be a bad idea, i would definatly talk to your doctor or a doctor before mixing the two drugs. im not a doctor or anything but i have taken a lot of different drugs, just be careful.

My brother was on adderall and zoloft for several years. Little did he know that he was basically being poisoned. Eventually he went completely crazy. This man who for most of his life was a very intelligent, well spoken and articulate professional became an ENTIRELY different person over time. Toward the end of his time on these combined drugs, he started making decisions that he normally would have never made. In the end, he ended up in jail, lost his family, lost his job and lost the respect that he had from many people in his community. This quiet, very well educated man is now a basketcase. He lives his life with a severe heart problem, he is unemployed and will probably never again have a job that he went to college for 12 years to obtain. It's a very sad thing.
I'm on 20mg adderall 3 times a day, n my doctor gave me ambiens because the addy's geek me out a lil if I take too many in a day. Dr. Said its very common for ppl on adderall to also use ambien to come down n be able to sleep.... If I just take my adderall late in the day I can't sleep unless I take my ambiens. Works great for me...
Dude. Youh were not hallucinating. You were dreaming. Your mind huts down and goes to sleep but the adderall keeps your body going. So you are acting out your own dream
was it seretonin syndrome? i had that from adderall and lexapro. luckly i found it out before my doctor did, and told her about it. it scared the hell out of her. she never told me anything about potential side-effects like that. they claim it's a rare occurrence, but that's bs. takng ANY ANTIDEPRESSANT with an AMPHETAMINE WILL CAUSE IT EVENTUALLY. sorry for your brother man, that really sucks. also note that taking bigger doses of ambien can be life-threatening, no matter how much adderall you may have taken, ambien's half-life is twice that of adderall (refer to blood plasma levels for both meds via prescribing info. packets (pdf online). peple have put themselves into comas accidentally because they took more than was recommended. i have been one of them, no matter how tempting it might be, DON'T DO IT! ITS TOO EASY TO MESS UP!

My ex-girlfriend mixed aderall, ambien and alcohol and the resulting effects freaked me out to the point it ended our relationship, she made up stories about people in our home, was messing around with a bottle of bleach, woke up people around midnite, friends and did not recollect a thing she did the day after, she got violent and her speech was slurred. I thought she had been possessed by the devil himself. Do not try this combination ever.
I'm currently taking Adderall XR 25mg twice daily, but those are extended release capsules. If you wish to break the second portion, you may do so, this allows it to go directly to the bloodstream and it will not stay in body stream for long hours... Max is probably 5-6hrs or less as suppose to 10-12hrs. So when I take my ambient at night time, the light affects of the adderall will be worn out. Within 30-35 mins after taking ambient, I am on cloud nine...dreaming away!
