I'm having this procedure done in a month? How is the recovery? Has anything changed for you? I'm a bit nervous. Thank you.

It's called 2 surgeries. They make the money that way . Sad I to am having clots the size of the palm of your hand. Bleeding very heavy for 7 weeks . 4 days off and it starts again. I'm going through all the testing. Biopsy of uterus. And some kind of ultrasound. Reading all this I have no clue what to have removed. I do not want to bleed and have pain any more . I'm 46 had to of the ablatia.

is it even possible to have a light period after a total hysterectomy?!? physiologically, it should NOT be possible, the cervix was removed, but yet thate exactly what appears to be happening to me. A little frustrsted at this point. Yes its better than before the hysterectomy, but this SHOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE!?!? Right?!?

I had a partial hysterectomy in October 2015 and kept only my ovaries. I am bleeding now January 2016 and wonder if that is normal. I had endometriosis my whole life, laprascopies and surgeries. They told me I couldn't have children that's how bad it was. I used to have heavy bleeding, cramps so bad I couldn't move out of my bed and now I thought I was Scot free. I don't have pain just bright red blood. During my surgery they said I had intestines attached to my abdominal wall which wasn't fixed. I seen a surgeon because I had pain even after surgery but ended up removing my gallbladder but intestines were not a priority they said. Now I am pain free thank goodness but I do get pain at work sometimes from bending and lifting. Now I am afraid because I have been bleeding bright red blood, do I need to worry?

I had similar situation. In order to stop bleeding they had to burn residues of endometriosis in my cervix. After that I don't get the bleeding anymore. Once a moth a sweall like I'm 4 months. Frustration but I am getting better after a year. I finally went back to the gym but it's been a process. I started walking for awhile then running. Now I am doing light weight. I hope you get better soon. You are not alone. The sad part is that the doctor always look at us like they have no clue get a second opinion. My second Doctor fixed me. Sorry for the miss spell but English is my 2nd language

so endometriosis is when endometrial tissue adheres to anywhere in the body besides the uterus. If this is true, and hormones are still cycling, and there is residual endo tissue, couldn't this trigger the bleeding?

I have had the same issue. I learned yesterday that there is cervical tissue in my vaginal cuff. I had/have severe Endo so my hysterectomy was very difficult and part of the cervix was left behind unintentionally. Because I still have cervical tissue and one ovary (hence estrogen) I am having a mini period every month.

When you say partial hysterectomy, what do you mean? Ovaries retained? Uterus and cervix removed?

I have the same exact issue. My doc prescribed the mini pill and it helped for about 6 months. Now it is full force again.
