Clavicle sticking out might be caused by this condition called shoulder separation.
i have the same thing my right collar bone sticks out wayy more than my left and i just started noticing it because when i did power cleans the bar would bruise my right collar bone but not my left... when i checked it out in the mirror i noticed that my right was wayy more prominent and it kinda worried me imma go to the doctor and get it checked out but idk its really wierd, good to know theres other ppl out there with the same thing

I am 53 y/o female & just discovered the prominence of my left collar bone (at the cricoid process) while, like another, looking in the mirror & the light glanced off of the area just right to make me notice the asymmetrical shape of my neck & the way my necklace was hanging around my neck. Looked at several pictures of me from the last 10 years & the change is noticed in the last year (12 months). No change in my work habits (Paramedic on an ambulance), no change in my home life, no change in my diet or exercise regimen, no change in my social activities other than traveling to California for vacation for 2 weeks. I have had my right thyroid removed & take Synthroid daily for the past 15 years. No injury or trauma to my neck, chest, back, or collar bones. My Mom thinks it could be Cancer. I don't smoke, either. Unfortunately, I do not have health insurance & cannot go to the Dr. right now. I wish I could find out what this might be a sign of, so I could determine the urgency to get a professional diagnosis. (I'll have insurance in April, 2013, I think).
pl. reply the problems
You can too have an MRI with braces on. I'm 42 and have braces on my teeth. I have had two MRI's. There is no pull and they won't be ripped off your teeth. Your doctor is an id**t if he told you you can't have an MRI. Also, my left collar bone sticks out further than my right but both pop alot and I cannot lay on my side for very long. Mine was caused by a motorcycle wreck in May 2012 where I landed facedown in ditch on my left side, the bike on top of me. Needless to say, they say mine is "normal" too. No it is not normal to me. It never looked like that nor moved and popped like that before the accident. Whatever. I guess it is just something I will have to live with the rest of my life, but at least I still have my life. So I will take it!!!! Good luck and call that id**t doctor and tell him to get you in for that MRI. Hope this eases you some.
im 13 years old imy left collarbone is protruding and buldging it dosnt hurt or bother but if i sallow or cough it hurts a lil on left side of my neck.... my rght collarbone is a little sunk in also i dnt know what do to?? help cant go to doctor intill wensday!!
I have the same problem, my left collarbone is bigger than the right.
Because the hart is on the left side of the body the organs and bones on the left side get more blood in them so they grow very quickly, for example my left collarbone. I think it's very annoying and also want to fix that problem which effects my symmetry.
I am 22 years old, 145 lbs, and 5'10". I do not remember when I had first noticed, but my left clavicle (or collarbone) sits higher and farther forward than my right side. Also, the part just under the manubrium (the area above the sternum, called the gladiolus) also protrudes outward, like a sort of bump. My left shoulder and chest muscles are often tense and knotted. Lastly, I believe that I may have a form of thoracic scoliosis, where my spine curves to the left within the cervical region.
When I was in junior high (I was 14 or 15), I received an injury to my spine. I was sitting in a hallway when my friends were playing with a very heavy, metal framed, mobile chalkboard. The chalkboard had been knocked off balance, tipped over, and came crashing down on top of me. It hit me on top off the head (which bent me over), bounced (I think...), and hit again on my upper back. It was so heavy that it took three of my friends to lift it off of me. Needless to say, I couldn't straighten my back, crawled to my next class, and passed out.
Besides that major incident, I have fallen on my shoulder more than once, and sleep in a position where it probably worsens my shoulder (I sleep on my side, with my arm under my head and pillow). I do not really excerise or stretch, but on occasion rub out and/or stretch my shoulder. The left shoulder and chest muscles are slightly larger than my right, partly natural mass from biased usage, partly inflammation.

I had the exact same problem as all you guys. I went to see a osteopath and it was fantastic he fixed it up on the first visit and after 4 visits I felt amazing as osteopathy not only looks at muscles both your bones and your alignment. He said it starts from your feet, one foot being out of alignment or an ankle and can affect your body further up. I couldn't recommend osteopathy more because as a rugby player I've had access to athletic trainers or physiotherapists for a few years through my club and when I asked about my collar boe they said they could do nothing etc. I was told to put more muscle on my chest, do these exercises and it will be fine. Long story short we can't fix it! I found out about osteopathy as my mother had been to see one and after going I swear by it. It does cost money but honestly I'd see it as an investment go 4-6 in the beginning and a check up every few months and you will feel top class. Long story short find an osteopath!!!!!
My collarbone has protruded out every since I was a child, and the left side sticks out much further, all the way down between my breasts. It causes my left breast to be larger than the right one and it is extremely unflattering. I am very insecure about it. I went to get x-rays but they said nothing was wrong. I'm really not sure what to think but I don't see what problem this could possibly be caused by.
If anyone has any suggestions it would be helpful.
I have the same condition on the right side. But I've noticed over the years [67 of them] that my entire body is non-symmetrical; with higher shoulder on the right, bigger hip-bone [iliac arch] and inside leg measurement about half an inch longer.
Also, I have been diagnosed with a condition called DISH [disseminated ideopathic skeletal hyperstosis] or Forestier's disease. This results in ligaments gradually turning onto bone all over the body. On X-ray it shows up as osteophytes - little slivers of bone where ther shouldn't be any.
Mostly it affects the spine but also shoulders, pelvis and thighs. It causes stiffness, loss of movement and pain in some people, but not all.
I think I have possible explanations for my bigger clavicle and they may apply to others as well.
I don't think it's cancer... I have it too and cancer in that area is super rare... I'm 54 and a client of mine noticed it. I used to be a gym rat and have become way too sedentary in the last 5 years. I'm a mobile dog groomer, so like you I lift a lot of heavy weight. I'm pretty sure we're just WAY out of alignment and bad posture has also played a part. I also noticed that sometimes when I lift things with significant weight I get a really strange tingling sensation in my hips and limbs and have to put down the weight pretty fast. I don't know if that happens to you, (nobody else has mentioned that as a symptom) but I do know that my left hip was turned(sub-something..I forget the word) and keeps on getting turned so that I have to lay on a table with my left leg hanging off the side from the hip down to get it to turn back.. Anyway...I digress. My main thing was to say, "I don't think it's cancer"
so i'm 12 and have this... Do u still or no??
