Hey You Guys i have this same problem with my collarbone but mine was because of 2 past injuries they told me it was the cartidge and tendons or legiments what ever they are i cant remember lol but the second time they didnt tell me what was wrong and as a result i've been suffering from the pain everytime i train or even sit for a long period of time then move my shoulder i've also discovered that i have a little bump on my collarbone just below my neck and the doctors wont do nothing about it dispite the fact im in alot of pain with it and i've even thought about getting my collarbone pushed back in to place
It is called "Sternoclavicular Subluxation". I have it from a fall but mine is very painful. There is NO cure. The Clavical has moved away from the sternum & is now filled with scar tissue. It is a lifelong problem but be grateful you don't have ALL the pain I do....GL.....SEK
Thank you for that lengthy but great response. I have also lost half and inch but contributed to my age of 70. My right collar bone is larger and I have pronounced veins on the right arm so bought into the response that I use my right side more. Now a chiropractor tells me that I am 51 percent out of alignment. I only have hip pain at the moment but seems to have gone since the adjustment. My question is this, how can one stay aligned? Frequent adjustments by a chiropractor is too costly. I think I will buy the book and learn to correct myself.
ihave scoliosis and just recently i noticed my right collarbone is sticking out more then my left i hate it but i don't know if there is anything you can do about it but i am certainly going to find out.
I know how you feel; seems like a lot of people are having this kind of problem. Question: Since you have that stick out collar bone, have you ever noticed any sudden changes in your voice when you speak to someone ? Have you have any pain around that area that comes in and out in a day or in a week ? You may want to go to an ENT physician, OTOLARYNGOLOGIST for further evaluation. I don't know how they do their evaluation. Take care.
What is the cause of getting it ?
I am 20 years old and about 2 years ago I also noticed my collar bone sticking out on the right side with the same symptoms. I haven't been to the doctor, but I also have fairly severe scoliosis in my back (I had to wear a corrective back brace for two years and I still have a bad curve in my spine) so like some people here are saying, I bet this is caused by being misaligned, either by misuse and/or by being born misaligned like me. It's amazing how much being just slightly off in alignment can affect so many different areas of the body. If I go to the doctor I'll post an update here on what they say.
have you ever dislocated your shoulder?? bc I did and then I noticed my bone was sticking up further on one side. its your clavicle bone. your gonna have to live with it. doctors can do surgery on it to pin it back down. but its not gonna be an issue if you dont get surgery.
Someone needs to respond to this with some real info because I have the same problem. I know some people are like that from birth and its just cause not everything grows in the same, kind of like how one foot is usually bigger. My problem is that I wasn't born like this lol. Happened playing football a while ago and it won't go away. My collar bone sticks out probably a little more than a quarter of an inch between my neck and my shoulder joint. There isn't a lot of pain other than when I try to do heavy work outs with it or if I hold my arm up for too long. Anyone know??
Do you play any sports? I'm 15 too and I messed mine up playing football. I was able to play through the entire season with it, but it hurt quite a bit sometimes. Our seasons been over for a couple weeks now and it's still there. I don't want to see the doctor because I'm scared he might pull me out of sports
