Hi---I haven't written to you in months and hope you are still doing well...I am much better than I was---it was determined I had slow stomach motility after havin a Gastric Emptying test---it was in the normal range but very high end of normal...I had been taking liquid erythromycin for the motility problem as well as Zantac and protonix for reflux---I haven't had the erythromycin for a few weeks but still take the other things---I don't feel much nausea anymore but still have a bit of left sided pain under my shoulder blade---Have you completely recovered? I just thought I would touch base with you and thank you for the support when I was terrified and frustrated---

I am not a doctor so I can comment on if there is or isn't something else going on. If you feel something is still wrong then have it checked out. I had so many tests, pre and post op, that I can't even remember them all. The only thing I can tell you is that I got better!!! It just took a long time and I had to take things very sloooooooowwww! Every time I tried to push myself, I would "fall back" more steps than I had gone forward. Once I accepted that I needed to take my time, relax, treat the anxiety that had set in, and focus on getting hydrated and nurished with the ensure, I started to see that I really was getting better! I dontknow what else to tell you. Just be patient, this is going to take a lot of time...even more if you try to rush things!

Glad to hear that things are going much better for you now! I don't know that I will ever be 100% but I would say that I average about 98% ! To me, that's awesome! I am learning to keep my stress levels in check, since stress is a trigger for the slow motility and Gastroparesis. I am able to eat and see much clearer now. I treat myself to a monthly massage to help manage stress and I have learned how to let things go. I am happy that I was able to help you. Too bad the doctors don't always seem to understand. Thank God for people who are willing to share their personal experiences! Good luck and God Bless!

Hope you get this. My doctor finally prescribed Xifaxan, which he said would "clear your gut out". nausea kept going away earlier and earlier in the day, until about day 4 when it was gone completely. I don't know whether it was coincidence due to just time, or actually worked. but im a believer. I now am convinced I had a mild form of giardia that this drug took care of. good luck

My dad had his removed 3 years ago and has had constant nausea ever sense. Everyone says its in his head. I read too many blogs of others with 24/7 nausea. I would like to know what is available out there after you have had test after test, blood work, and many, many trips to ER. I can across a test that has never been mentioned to my dad by any of the numerous specialists he has been to. It's called ERCP. My dad has been prescribed every medication you can imagine for his stomach and for depression/anxiety. Nothing is helping. All I know it is not in his head and we need answers.

Very discouraged

I wasn't sick for as long as your dad but I was so sick for six months after my gallbladder removal---I had every test known to man and all was normal---yet I had CONStant nausea and couldn't eat---I was thin to begin with and lost 20 pounds---I thought I was dying and was miserable and scared....I kept researching it and heard about gastroparesis---I never actually vomited but sure felt like it---I even went to accupuncture, chiropractic, a naturopath and took qi gong---nothing helped---then they did a gastric emptying test and it was positive----I changed doctors and he has really helped me---He put me on liquid erythromycin and it began helping my nausea almost immediately---he also put me on protonix, zantac and carafate---the good news is that I am off most of the meds now for about a month and still feel good---this doctor told me some people get this temporarily after gallbladder surgery and develop small intestinal bacterial overgrowth which causes the nausea because of bile reflux----it is worth getting your dad to get the test (GES)---it is safe and will show how efficiently his stomach is emptying----Also, don't let him get the ERCP unless absolutely necessary because it causes pancreatitis in many people----good luck and let me know how your dad does---

I had the exact same issue. I had constant nausea and some vomiting for six months. Although tests came back with nothing, they were sure it was my gall bladder. They took it out and said it looked "sick" but I always wondered if that was the cause of my issues. I had the surgery in September and it's now April and today the nausea is as bad as it's ever been. I'm sitting here at work gagging. I'm almost thinking it's all in my head and it was never my gall bladder. I'm extremely confused! Glad to hear it's not so uncommon

I had my gall bladder removed on February 8th and I have good days and many bad days.  Sometimes I wake up with this awful nauseated taste in my mouth.  The doctor put me on Acidphlex.  I had been taking Omeprazole.  Was hoping for immediate relief but I regurgitate a lot.  I do have a hiatal hernia but doctors act like that isn't a problem.  I can only eat a little bit at a time - but I can eat all day long.  Can't digest leafy greens which I need because I have macular dreusens - which could lead to macular degneration.  I'm having knee surgery next week and I just feel like I'm falling apart. i HAD SO MANY GALL STONES THAT I WAS HOPING MANY OF MY SYMPTOMS WOULD DISAPPEAR - BUT THEY DIDN'T!

I can suggest digestive enzymes which seem to help me alot---also, try to keep something in your stomach with small frequent meals...I stayed nauseated for six months and lost 20 lbs....I also have a left sided pain on and off...the zofran never seemed to help...after various tests, they discovered I had slow stomach emptying and tried me on liquid erythromycin, protonix and zantac...I took these three months and got much better...I am off of these now and do mostly feel good...

I am also 4 mns post of and still have nausea. I have found if I don't eat any thing fatty (especially ice cream) before bed that I don't wake up nauseated.
Sometimes I have a weird feeling all over that I never had before. I have no idea what is is, however, it came a few weeks after the surgery and continues.
