I had the same thing exactly---I have no more nausea after 7 months post op but I do get a pain in my left ribs under my arm and just feel strange sometimes like queasiness and achy all over---However, I did have soooo many tests post surgery and a gastric emptying study showed i have slow stomach emptying...I took protonix, zantac, carafate and liquid erythromycin for four months which helped but i still don't feel my old self---

I have had the worst anxiety spells too. I've never had a problem with anxiety; it comes out of the blue! No idea why. I'm on medication and it seems to help a bit, except when I get extremely nauseous :/ hang in there! I feel your pain.

If you google " what kind of diet should I be on after gallbladder surgery", you will find dietician advice on the need for a low fat diet and frequent small meals, while your body adjusts and why. I am 4 weeks post surgery and plan to try this approach

OMG!!! I feel the same way. I get so discouraged when the nausea comes back. I was hoping the surgery would solve all my problems,

My gall bladder was taken out only 3 weeks ago. I'm praying this will pass...

Im about 3 weeks out of gallbladder surgery and experiencing a lot of nausea. Like you, I havent thrown up but feel as though I have a stomach virus. One week after surgery I thought I had a stomach virus because of loose stools and nausea. Wish I had known what to expect. Thank you for your post, I just hope this nausea doesnt continue long.

Did you ever get over your nausea issues? I have had mine for over two years now, every day, all day long and nothing helps me. All my tests have come back normal too. I'm hoping to hear that people just get over it eventually and get back to normal.

Since I have had my gall bladder removed, I have had nausea for over two years now, every day, all day long and nothing helps me. All my tests have come back normal. I'm hoping to hear that people just get over it eventually and get back to normal, but two years seems kinda long and I am becoming very depressed.

I had the nausea for six months after and then it gradually got better...however in the meantime, I had a gastric emptying test and found I had gastroparesis...After three months on meds, I got better and stopped the meds and did great for 4 months...two weeks ago, the nausea came Do you have pain?

I am almost a year after surgery. I still get nausea frequently, though it is not as bad as before. The worst is usually in the evening, after dinner. My doctor prescribed Ondansetron for the nausea. It does help a lot and the only side effect is constipation, which considering the fact that I have constant diarrhea is actually a blessing. BTW, Ondansetron is also used to treat IBS with diarrhea.

I thought about doing the gastric emptying test, but I read that the only medicine that can help if you do have gastroparesis can cause serious nerve damage and other complications and that freaked me out so I thought there would be no point to doing the test if I wont take the medicine anyway. I did have pain when I had my gallstones, but I didn't have any more pain after I got my gallbladder removed and I havent had any "bathroom" issues either as I hear a lot of people do, so I'm not sure what is wrong with me.

The medicine you are talking about is Reglan and there are other things which can be used...My gastric emptying was in the normal range but the very high end of normal so he said I have mild gastroparesis..I never had typical gallbladder pain as I had no stones;however, the HIDA scan showed a dysfunctional gallbladder...I, like you had constant nausea...a few weeks ago, I had a mild setback but for the most part, I can now eat everything and not get nauseous...also, I gained back the 22 pounds I lost during that six months of continual nausea... I was thin to begin with but I looked like a starving person for a few months---It really scared me...You could also have bile reflus which is different from GERD.
