Get tested for thoracic outlet syndrome. Go and see a vascular surgeon. I'm going through the same thing.

Hi I am Sher a CNA and I hurt my clavicle, shoulder and neck turning a patient, and I am having pain in those areas. There is a bump/lump on my right clavicle at the end of the bone between my neck. This over a month now, I have been doing therapy and seeing the othorpedic doc. At certian angles it hurts - when I turn my head to the left, if I do shoulder shugs with the right shoulder that whole area along with my clavicle hurts. The pain comes right back when the meds wears off, I cant sleep on that side...a lot of discomfort and pain most times. To even hold something heavy in my right hand extended down I feel the strain in that area. I am still doing therapy.....can someone tell me what is going on here-I need to work. Thanks.

I think it is a ligament, I am trying to find out which one. I have been dealing w/ my clavicle now for months. No change. Relief for a few days, then right back to square one. I have been having my fiance work on the bone itself and all attaching musculature, It has helped, but seems to come right back if I don't have it worked on every week.

dependind on your med history, have you had Dexa scan or Vit D labs done? Also, depending on the area on of your clavicle it could be neck or shoulder. You made need to have MRI done, however, you need to be examed by probably ortho or neuro to determine the appropriate MRI (C-spine, shoudler, clavicle) each study is ordered individually. hope this is helpful. I am having some of the same issues.

How do I get this done by someone in my area? I have been suffering from horrible muscle spasms, burning and pain in my neck, lower back and hips since a car accident 2 1/2 years ago. I have been to chiros, orthos, massage, acupuncture and general physicians......no one can visibly see any cause of the pain and lack of healing.

Thank you very much.

That is assuming that there was a fall, if not, then your explanation doesn't apply.

This is your scalene muscle. I am a Chiropractor who has also suffered this issue. Went on for months, I had xrays, adjustments, ect. Nothing solved it, just made better for a short spell. Finally I began investigating attached muscles, and my husband poked and prodded me at my direction. And he hit pay dirt! If I turn (rotate) my head away from affected side, and he presses down into my trapezius area, above shoulder, above collar bone, he hits the scalene muscle, which becomes exposed when the head is rotated. I had this worked on several times by my husband, since I couldn't find a massage therapist to go deep enough, or stay on that one area. It was getting expensive, so I taught him what to do and he worked on me about once per week for about 3 weeks, now it's about once per month, but the pain is gone for the most part. When it starts to come back, and since muscles have memory, it does get tight again and I start to feel it, and he works on it and it's gone for longer and longer. It could be caused by something relatively minor, picking up something heavy. Mine started after my 2 year old pulled my hair while I was leaning into the car buckling the car seat. Causing my neck to flex sideways a little forcefully, and after that, the collar bone pressure started, then pain, then that weird swelling, which is irritated ligamentous attachments and muscle. You'll notice the bump can get bigger at times, sometimes smaller when it's not bothering you, then come back. It will never go away completely, but once your neck pain resolves for the most part, it will no longer irritate you at the collar bone so much and that bump will become asymptomatic for the most part too.
