I was on the pill (yasmin) for only 8 months and I have the same symptoms as described above. I stopped it beginning of september and I had only 2 days of spotting since then (it is beginning of december now). I hope it comes back soon..
and a question.. Can I still get pregnant now that I dont have my period coming regularly?

So i read alot stories and everyone is basically the same.. Get on Yasmin [[BCP]] for awhile.. Start feeling mood swings, depression, weight gain, and so on.. So you hop off then have to deal with your period not coming for a month to year..

Well i been on the Yasmin [[BCP]] for 6 months, just started new pack a few days ago.. But for about the last month i have been feeling really sad and depressed like i just dont want to do the things i used to.. always tired or feel sick.. i even feel like i developed causterphobia.. but i took a pregnancy test just to make sure and nada it was negative so i went to the doctor and told her and she said it was just stress and it would go away on its own.. so idk what to do..? Do i get off.. stay on...? After reading these stories i kinda feel like what did i get into here.. Well i got on to be safe and have safer sex but i dont like how im feeling and this all started because i saw on the news about how birth controls pills were causing these symptomz and a light bulb went off.. could that be the solution to this whole mess..? idk..

Any suggestions or advice.. Reply Plz..
Thankz a Million, CoNfUsEd !

I'm in the SAME boat. I was on other birth control on and off (mostly on) for the past 8 years. I went on Yasmin for 3 months and then stopped because I want to get regnant. I'm 24. I've always returned to normal immediately after stopping pills. I did have a few more days on my period immediately after stopping Yasmin. It's been almost six weeks now and I am still waiting for my period. Being low on patience, I've taken 2 PT's and they were both negative. I am wondering if I may be pregnant and-somehow-it's not showing up on the tests yet...but I'm doubtful. And I'm getting anxious about getting my period!
I did have the ever slightest pinkish brown discharge after peeing yesterday, but that was all. I've been waiting for a real period ever since and also wondering if it could have been implantation bleeding....
This is so stressful!

i was on yasmin for a year, stopped taking it because of very heavy break through bleeds and concern about blood clots. i had my period for the first two months after stopping and then out of no where my period stopped coming...its been almost three months without a period i still do not know what is wrong with me. my case is different from yours because i did get my period for two months after stopping yasmin but as i said before it suddenly stopped. i am going broke from doctors appointments and home pregnancy tests can someone please help me?

AMEN! ...i'd been on bcpills for a minimum of 5 years and the last couple were on yasmin..
had sex when i just just stopped taking the pills.. and now it's like ... 5 days late and i'm freaking out!

you all have assured me that this is normal and i'm prolly being totally paranoid.. but i'll take a test to be sure...

ps. ever since i've been off it.. for a month now.. i'm tons happier.. i don't retain water and i've probably lost 7pounds....there's gotta be a better alternative that doesn't make you all screwed up AND to protect you..

I took Yasmin for a year and stopped taking it in November. I'm now 2 weeks late getting my period and have constant nausea, cramps and feel extremely tired. I'm assuming this is normal b/c everyone seems to be having the same problem. Anyone know how to get rid of the nausea?

It sounds like it's very common to have missed periods after stopping Yasmin. I'm interested in hearing from those of you who posted here or have had that situation, how long did it eventually take til your period came back? Have any of you successfully gotten pregnant after stopping Yasmin? If so, how long did it take you?

Thanks for your help! I just stopped taking Yasmin and am hoping to get pregnant within the year. I hope I'm able too :/

I came off Yasmin in early December after been on it for around 3yrs. I did have a period in December and in January not normal ones tho quite long with a lot of very dark discharge but still periods. Today I am 16 days late...taken 2 pg tests both negative. I did have some brownish discharge and very low abdominal pains like at the time my period should have come but nothing to report since. I don't really want to go to the docs as they never seem very useful! I don't know if anyone will have anything to say but have read so many of these posts and thought it was time to speak lol! Apologies for such a long post!

I had been on the pill (yasmin) for 3 months and now i am experiencing spotting during the time when my period should be, i am also concerned. I came off the pill because it was causing me to be moody and gain weight. I am going to take a pregnacy test today to see kind what is going on. i agree with a previous post, its poison!

i was on yasmin for about a 2yrs then i came off it for a yr as i was single, and had no problems, my periods were still regular and i got little or no craping or period pains that whole yr. i then met my bf and went back on yasmin about a yr and half ago again my period was regular and i had no period pains or breast tenderness.

i have been on the BC since i was 16 and i am now 25, i was on cilest for 4yrs then changed to Dianette for acne for just over a yr and a half and then Yasmin

i stopped taking yasmin in Dec 2008 and had my period as normal on the 26th since then i had no period in jan, but suffered realy bad cramps and really tender nipples i went to my GP who done a pergnancy test as i had un protected sex between dec and 12th jan but it came back negative. My Gp said it was normal and if my period didnt return within 6months to go back. my bf lives away and was only home till 12th jan so since then i have had no intercourse.

since no period in Jan, i got a light bleed in Feb 7th which lasted 4 days, the stomach cramps were agony and came about a 2 weeks before my period and lasted for about a week after and again i had the tender nipples.

In March i had no period, but did suffer alot of stomach cramps like i was due a period but nothing came, i went out to see my bf in april 1st and we had unprotected intercourse from the 1st to the 20th April, during this time from the 4th i suffered bad cramps and nipple tenderness and on the 7th i got a light bleed which lasted 4days, i am still getting stomach cramps reguarly, not every day

i dont know if this is just side affects from coming off the pill or if it is something more, if anyone can help please.

Are you saying you have not had a period in a year? This is not healthy at all and you need to see your doctor asap.
It is common for someone to not have a period right away after getting off the pill while the body regulates itself. First month or so. Any more than that could be due to malnutrition/low body fat or polycystic ovarian syndrome or something else. You need to have your hormones checked through blood work.
Lack of mestruation, if not due to pregnancy, is a definite association with a lack of the absorption of calcium causing osteoporosis very prematurely.
I am also wondering how many women out there may have developed or discovered PCOS (polycstic ovaries) after getting off yasmin or any other birth control and if anyone else thinks there may POSSIBLY be a link associated. (I am only merely researching and looking at all possibilities)

Well I went off Yasmin after being on it a few years and didn't get a period for 10 months. The doctors put me back on yasmin to "regulate my period" and i felt it was just masking the problem, so again went off the pill six months later which was in january. I have never had a proper period as i went on the pill at age 15 two months after i got my first one because of my skin so i wasn't sure how long my cycle was meant to be. Since coming off the pill this january, i have been clockwork 26 day cycle which is awesome. so it can happen, it took that 6 months back on the pill to get my period started again after 10 months without one!

did you stop them in the middle of your pack or did you finish you pack first. usually if you finish your pack you get your period like normal but if you stop them in mid pack weird things can happen with your period. im sorry to hear your going through this. i myself just took my last yaz sugar pill yesterday and now im cramping and starting today. which is good for me. did you take a test yet it should show up by now if your pregnant and if it says negative then its just your body anyway trying to get back on track. i did hear it could take up to 6 months for your body to get back normal. good luck and best wishes.
