I was on the pill for 10 years hoping to start trying for a baby. I've now been off yasmin for 2 months. Still no baby. I had a period the month after coming off the pill but no baby. I'm 2 weeks from my next period...we shall see.

I was on Yasmin for about 7 years.  I went off it for about 4 months, but started it again after my acne flared up.  When I went on it again I was given antibiotics for a urinary infection as I was feeling like  I needed to pee all the time.  No actual infection.  I linked the two (Yasmin and pressure to pee) several weeks later as Yasmin.  Going to see a urologist.  I stopped taking Yasmin 6 weeks ago and have put on 10lbs and no period.  Blood test that came back yesterday are all good.  I continue to eat healty (vegetarian, no processed food and organic when possible) and exercise 7 days a week (walking 7 and circuit train 4-5). I hoping my hormones will balance out soon. I started taking Estrosence.  Anyone have a similar story?

I am hoping my story helps everyone. I am 30 and been on yasmin from 15! I had a two year break in 2008 and had NO periods in that time and got the worse case of acne. I couldn't stick it out as the acne was on my face, back, chin and back. So I went straight back on Yasmin. In March of this year I decided to come off and get my cycle looked into and after not having a period last time for two years I was freaking out as you can imagine. Turns out, I came off in march and have had a period every month so need to go to the doctors. My advice, sit it out, relax and it will come. My doctors advice was wait 6 months and if still nothing then go to the docs. (She said two years was a long time to go without and that my old doctor should have investigated but they told me at the time not to worry). Hope this helps. everyone is different but things can change like my cycle did.

I agree. I went off Yasmin in Oct 2012 and had to back on in Feb 2013 due to increase in acne! I began to have an urgency and frequency in urination and my urologist advised me to come off Yasmin. When I did I put on 10 lbs and no periods. The acne came back too. In June 2013 the weight finally came off, the acne is gone and Im Yasmin free. Ill probably always be on the bladder medication. My urologist told me that he sees a frequency in overactive bladder from users that use Yasmin!!!

Hi-I was put on yasmin at 15 years old and quit it 5 years later

I am fairly worried about not having my period!. I quit it initially in April 2013, but two months after went back on it after horrid moodswings and weight gain, but then going back on it I put on even more weight despite the excercise and diet, apparently water weight accoding to my research. anywho I have been off now for nearly 6 months (beignning of aug 2013) and have no period since then only withdrawel bleed quite soon after stopping. For me its not a problem of trying to get pregnant it is the worry if anything happens I do get pregnant! (God forbid) but I have taken 6 pregnancy tests and all came back negative, I lost all the weight after I came off about 3 kg quite fast.... anyone help me? Im not sure what I should do? and I dont trust doctors that much tbh!! Also I would like to add girls that for anyone who isn't aware you can still get pregnant without having your period, the ovulation process still goes on according to research but thats why its worrying that all the lining and stuff can be just sitting there (am I being naiive?)

I have had a similar problem. I have been on Yasmin on and off for the past 9 years. I can't say I've ever paid attention to my cycle in the time periods of coming of the pill until now. I stopped taking in in March and was having periods as normal but then at the end of August I decided to start taking it again. I took it for 1 week and then decided not too. 2 weeks later (September 13th) I had a bleed but since then I've had nothing. My partner and I have not had unprotected sex in over a year regardless of whether or not I was on or off the pill. Although we haven't had any accidents I still have taken 3 pregnancy tests and all have been negative. Googling my issue has caused me nothing but worry and I lay in bed convincing myself I was infertile. But after speaking to a GP (who I live with) she didn't seem overly concerned and said this is normal and could be down to the pill or even stress, especially if I am getting stressed waiting for my period. I am only 25 and am not looking to get pregnant and reading this forum has helped ease my mind slightly. Naturally I am concerned as it has been 2months but I thought I would leave my experience as it is good to know other people are in the same boat. I hope that it is due to me messing around with the pill that has screwed it up and it returns soon. (And if they do return I'm sure I will have wished I enjoyed this period free time more!) The one thing that did ease my mind is my younger sister went 4months without a period after coming off the pill but is now back on track. I do get period like symptoms like the cramps and mood swings so fingers crossed!! I hope this helps :) sorry if it is a bit of a ramble!

The same story with me! Stopped Yasmin October 29th - as usual, on the 4th day (1th of November) got period. Next period came on the 5th December. Next one should be on the 4th January (as before going on Yasmin for about 7 years I used to have 30-31 days cycles) - and instead I had only very slight brownish discharge, almost nothing, on that day after exercising at gym. So today it is 20th January, which means I am 16 days late. Did home test - negative. Did HCG blood test on the 15th January - negative... Maybe huge stress? My father-in-law passed away on the 25th December, I lost my overseas ticket, could not fly away... I am 37 years old. Always felt perfect on Yasmin: was never nauseous, skin - perfect, no PMSes, no weight gain (I am slightly pear-shaped by nature). Went on Yasmin to clear up my skin - it worked wonders!! Went off Yasmin to get pregnant.

I went 3months without one but have had 2 regular periods since. When doing research it is apparently common as our bodies have to relearn how to produce oestrogen. If you eat flax seeds (linseeds) these are full of natural oestrogen which can help. I start eating them with my meals and I came on my period a week later. It could be coincidence but may be worth a try! Hope this helps.

I didn't have a period for 11 months after coming off Yasmin (took it for around 2 years) periods are completely regular and back to normal now but at the time I was freaked out! Everyone is different... sometimes it takes a while to leave your system completely
