My entire family gets them and you're 100% right, every doctor has told us it's due to lack of sleep or inconsistent and restless sleep patterns. If it's really bothering you try listening to meditation music or take some melatonin before bed. Rest easy.

I have tourettes and have for 20 yrs. Have a number of tics and this nose twitch just as of recent. I believe it is definitely possible thats its tourettes. Possibly stress related aswell but many people have forms of tourettes they are unaware of its not always the typical swearing as everyone thinks.

I'm sure this seem very stressful to people and quite embarrassing as I have recently twitching again I had it last year one I was under alot of stress and I have started having it over the past week again but bearing in mind I have had a lot of stress again I am only 24 but I don't feel as if I have anything to worry about just need to take some time for myself and have a good night sleep. I know at times it is very hard but just take deep breaths and try to relax your face. I would like to know if anybody else eyes have been effected by this and what else would anyone suggest on ways to relax my face instead of medication.

Hahaha. Awesome reply and couldn't agree with you more. So many psychologists and md's on this board, so I can see how they would diagnose everyone. SMH

Thank you soooooooo much for your comments. You are so right, and it is sad. People should be careful of what they say, a simple solution is to go see your doctor.

Yes! Allergies... it happens to me every time the pollen is high or when I eat cashews.... also it is a sign of low potassium, large amount of water intake (more than 32 oz per every 50 pounds) can lower your potassium.

My son has recently started with the nose twitching out of the blue. He is 20. I bought him a nasal irrigating system. Its a little tea pot and comes with packets of sea salt mixture. You can purchase these at any drug store. When the twitching starts he does the nose/sinus irrigating and his nose stops twitching instantly for quite a long time. Try it. I hope it helps. I also believe the twitching is anxiety. But if your really worried, see a doctor.

I have some kind of muscle spasm in my nose. I looked it up and find it hard to believe that I have Teretts syndrome... thanks for your post. I think I'll try a day off... and a nap!

I don't think she's talking about a tic......it's a twitch like when you get an eye twitch, but in the nostril.
