I had the Nova-Sure ablation done 7 days ago. I didn't have any trouble the first 5 days. No pain, no discharge. However, I am now having a heavy discharge. Every time I stand up and try to walk somewhere I can feel it coming out. It feels like I'm peeing on myself, but I'm not. I sure pray this goes away, and soon! Other than that, I've had no problems. Thus far. Ohh and my doc said the discharge was normal. I have high hopes it will clear up soon.

I'm going in tomorrow for pre op on this procedure, Friday is the day. I still have time to cancel and considering it. My periods aren't like most of the people on here, I originally went to the Obgyn for a thyroid tumor on the outside of my uterus and anemia issues. My dr told me of the nova sure or a stent type birth control, I'm not doing birth control but I'm just now finding stories that this procedure is no better. What can you tell me about this procedure? Have things gotten better? Is this a to good to be true procedure? It sounds like my periods are a better way to go. I was looking at no more periods how great but now I'm not sure. It sounds like I go in to rid of one problem and end up with more. I'm worried I'm down to the wire on this. Can you help me?

I had this proceedure done this past October at my Doctors request and wish I had NEVER had it done.  I used a highly reputable doctor in Houston and I got sepsemia from the procedure and wound up 4 day later in ICU and the hospital for 6 weeks and had to have 3 knee surgeries from getting strep B in my knee.  All from what I thought was a minor outpatient procedure that I really didnt need and to top it off I have gone from a 00 to barely fitting into my regular 0 clothes which really makes me mad because I discussed the weight gain possibility upfront and was ASSURED I would NOT gain weight.  Well, SURPRISE......Yes, you do!! Do not get unless you need it and I would get two opinions prior to having it done.

I had the Novasure ablation procedure done in 2010. I thought it was great at first! no periods, pain free periods. For about 1 year now I have been suffering through horrible pain in my pelvic area that radiates to my back and down the right side of my body, Constant headaches, horrible irritabilty just to mention a few of the side effects. My gyno said I have this syndrome now, at least now I know why im in so much pain. He has scheduled me to have a hysterectomy the first week of April. please keep me informed on this class action.
thank you-Corinna

My name is Amy, nice to meet you! I have had the same situation! After novasure two years ago, I am hospitalized every four months for severe, deadly uti infections. I am unable to work due to the pain, depressed, low energy, stress on family as we'll. we need to take a stand against using humans as lab rats, from the doctors who know best? I am all in! Bless you for pioneering change, amy

Hi all

I am so sorry to hear that so many of you are suffering having had the procedure, my thoughts go out to those of you suffering so much pain and I feel guilty that I have only positive things to say about the procedure and after effects but I thought I would share with you anyway. After over 20 years of horrendous bleeding and so much pain, I had the procedure after so many other treatments a lot of which worked but most were not licensed to be used long term - I am in the UK and they would not do a hysterectomy until post 40. After having the procedure and a couple of weeks of discomfort, I have been absolutely fine with the exception of bloating probably on a four weekly basis. I have not had any bleeding at all, nor the pain I experienced for so many years. It sounds dramatic to say it has changed my life but it really has - I have a job which involves me going into peoples homes and prior to the procedure I had to have 3 changes of clothes each day with me for two weeks per month and the fear and embarrasment of excessive bleeding really did affect the way I led my life and did my job, I was so worried about bleeding that I couldn't wait to get out of their homes. I was once on a train and the Police were called because someone thought I had been stabbed - such was the excessive nature of the problem!

I can now do all the things I couldn't do before - go to the gym, swimming, wearing any light coloured clothes, sounds silly but hopefully you will understand the significance! I wonder why there is such a difference in our experiences and can only send my good wishes to those who are suffering and wish you well and pain free soon. If I can help in terms of comparing experiences (I am guessing some of you are not in the UK) please let me know.

Wishing you all well

S xxx

That's crazy, my obgyn would do a vaginal ultrasound and they CAN see if there is a baby. I was 8 weeks and the vaginal ultrasound showed I was pregnant. I have read it is possible but unlikley to get pregnant after the Novasure procedure, but it can happen. I had the procedure done and it was horrible excruciating pain (I was not put under) but I am glad I did it. No more periods and mine were bad. .
