My husband had both hips done back in 2008 and I was wondering did anyone's penis change sizes?  Does it seem smaller?  He also has problems getting it up.  I feel that this surgery has messed him up. Is this the case with any of you men?  Please note He had both hips done.

Help I am feeling alone

Just over three months ago I was involved in motorcycle accident. I ended up on my back in hospital for 7 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair my busted forearm and several pelvic fractures. Since leaving hospital 6 weeks ago, I have some numbness on the right side of my penis and most frustrating of all, whilst I can get aroused, the erection is what I'd call partial. Certainly not hard enough for equal intercourse. I also have soreness about my scrotum, although it seems to be mainly sensitive on the skin rather inside. Perhaps related, the skin on my thighs is quite numb. I'm not sure of what to do: Just give it more time, or see my doctor. I'd be interested to hear from any others in my situation.

Completely normal. The numbness is from the anesthetic. Your doctor should have explained that they did a nerve block on you. This is to control the pain. Im a few months out and 100%. I think it took me 5 weeks post surgery to get back to 100%. As long as there is improvement in sensation week to week, there is not much to be concerned about. Happy rehab bro.

Hey all troubled guys of the world! I too had hip arthroscopic surgery 3 weeks ago. Same as the rest of you it seems, numb from mid shaft to head of penis. Have finally managed to make myself ejaculate, "worst one ever"! Hardly felt it! WTF?! I think that I am slowly getting better from week to week. I hope that everything comes back in the end! From what I have learned online, it seems like the average is 2-3 months! I will keep you posted!

I had the surgery 6 months ago. I now have full feeling in the penis and testicles. I am unable to maintain an erection. the only way I can have one is by using some sort of erectile dysfunction medicine. I was just wondering if anyone else I had a hip arthroscopy has the same problem

Hi i have been having this problem ever since the surgery to repair my broken femur due to a motorbike accident 3 weeks ago. At first it was totally numb and i couldn't urinate very well that's seemed to of stopped now and seems to be as normal as i can remember, i was able to get a erection 3-4 days after surgery but the worrying thing for me at the moment is not being able to ejaculate, i have tried to masturbate to see if i could but im going 30-60 minuets with nothing %-). This matter is very worrying for me as i'm only young

Greetings to you,
Just wanted to let you know that even they do not say it this is pretty common after this surgery. Don't be afraid and waste time going crazy because it will get better. this usually lasts 2-4 months, I am in week 7 and am beginning to feel much better now.
Good luck and there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm 17..I broke both of my femurs and my right hip in a car accident on my way home from our homecoming dance (talk about timing..) well, I was put into traction to straighten my legs back out and my hip...Lots of good that did me, I woke up not being able to feel my penis or scrotum.  It's been 2 and a half weeks...and now, my scrotum burns when I touch it. I am able to get erections (while sleeping, and the various cuddling with "friends") but i have NO idea when I have one...I just see it and realize "oh sh*t...what's wrong with me?" But yeah, any other reason as to why this is happening...and if I'll ever get it back..that'd be great.

I've had acl scoped (I know, I know, not exactly same thing but same outcome) and would say my orgasms are at about 70% of what it was pre surgery, >6 months ago. I feel something is quite wrong.

I am curious if your numbness has gotten any better since your surgery?
