I posted last May/June re my husband. He is still having twinges in the chest and also gets shortness of breath, particularly at night. No-one can explain why!

You and I are two peas in a pod. I've had a massive HA in the widow maker and went the nearest local hospital not knowing what was going on ... which hidesight learned any heart issues go to a major hospital. Although I needed a by-pass, they did a drug-eluding stent. Less than 5 months later after constantly complaining to my cardiologist that I had a sharp pain where my heart was he finally went in to look and the widow maker was already 93% blocked. Although the on-call doc thought I needed a by-pass, my doc did another stent inside that stent. Fast forward and the pain still continues and he blamed it on reflux or gall stones. I asked him if it can be from the stent and he says no. Internist added a drug for reflux to no avail on relieving the pain. Don't have any other symptoms of gall stones and x-ray is clear. She feels it is cardiology and he says no. I'm so frustrated and confused!!! Now, labored breathing, heart pain and exhaustion are my symptoms over the last 2 months and I'm going to a new cardiologist in a few weeks or to the ER if it gets worse.

I had a heart stent put in on 5/18/07 and even though I did experience some shortness of breath after 24-48 hours and my heart was pounding harder, this went away and was fine for 2 weeks when I started to experience moderately bad more localized pain over the area of my heart. Another angiogram was done and they inserted 3 more stents in the same coronay vessel (but different from the first heart stent). When I went home, I did start to experience moderate pain over the area of my heart even though upon dismissal from the hospital my doctor said if I felt a twinge here and there it couldn't be from my heart (likely musculosceletal). I still have this pain which is concerning me since I really can't do too much when I'm experiencing it. If I knew this was normal and not a problem with my heart I wouldn't be concerned, but I just don't know. I hope someone can relieve my concerns.

I had a stint put in on 2-9-12 having breathing issues and slight chest pain neuropathy worse in feet. Was also told nothing wrong. Started taking Lorazapan 1 mg. 3 times daily has helped breathing issues. No i'm under no stress or problems or ever had anziety attacks all from stint. Have heard several others complain about same problems.

The lorazapan isn't helping any more plus chest pain in center the same with sharp pains off to right side about 4 in. from center of chest,, have been re cathed. and treat mill stress test all show negative..
Been to pulmonary Dr. said all ok and feels this is a heart issue..
Been trying to get Dr.s to read this site but they just run me in and out, believe only interested in the $$$.

yes, from day one I told mr cardiologist that I have sharp pains in the area of my stent. This has gone on for 1 year and every time I mention this I am told it is not the stent. HELLO, never had it before the stent, only feeling tired and like everyone contributed this to stress at work.

Also had stent put in about 3-yrs ago. Never had little shooting pain in heart until after stent was put in. Cardiologist did stress test, cardio angiogram (heart cat scan) ultrasound. Other Dr. did chest xray. None of the tests showed anything? Then they started insinuating it was nerves, etc. I stopped going to Dr. and put up with it. Then, for no reason, they stopped. The only thing I was doing is praying a lot. I'm not saying that's what did it,but who knows? It sure didn't hurt to try it. Now I pray and give thanks that it's gone.

I'm reading this section for the exact reason you wrote it. 1sy few weeks after having a stent....I felt a sharp but tolerable short time period pain to the right of my chest centerline. I dont know exactly where the stent was placed but you'd think maybe a tolerable pain now and then might be normal but the Dr. said it was likely muscular related. After a month, it stopped doing it. I used to work out heavily....now I'm rehabbing to be sure no problems but did hit the gym Saturday and worked out pretty hard.Sure enough, I had the pain return on annd off for an hour Sunday at rest. I actually could press on the spot and it would hurt. I was only pressing on my chest bone...not hard at all, and could make it hurt. I dont know, I think I'd have to press pretty hard to do anything to affect my arteries or heart...I'm a big guy so it does seem to be more near the skin surface rather than deep inside. I'll ask about it at rehab, but it seems likely, its not my insides although, wherever the stent is, I'd be surprised ir it doesn't cause a twitch, sting or something now and then. What do I know?

I am a 43 year old male and had a stent placed 3 years ago. I have had on going chest pain since that time and have had multiple Cath's done since that time. They all come back clean but nobody can explain what is going on and why I have these chest pains and shortness of breath and why nitro seems to make them better. I have become severely depressed and up until now have thought I was all alone  and they made me feel like I was they only one this has ever happened to and that I must be crazy.

I have a cardiologists appointment next week and will be going in with both barrels loaded with a bunch of research I have been doing. I will be sure to post his comments after seeing him. PLEASE REMEMBER YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES AND IT SEEMS WE ARE BEING KEPT IN THE DARK.
