same here, i think it might have to do with the cold season and it also happens when i pop the bones in my neck. i really think we are just hypo's (worrying about sickness) to illness. I sometimes find myself wanting to go to he hospital for small reasons like this and nothing usually turns up. if some one goes please repost on what the hell this is.

I'm feeling this right now too, it started a couple nights ago, and it's kinda worsen, my throat is sore on one side and it's effecting my ear, whenever I swallow my ear hurts... I've kinda had this before but it went away within a day this is different, I think it might be postnasal drip for some, postnasal drip ususally is caused my allergies but it can also be caused from a cold mostly colds, but if you 've been having alot of sinus headaches it's def postnasal drip, the drip, drips into your throat which if effects your ears throat and your nose there all connected, it could be this or it could be just a simple virus... basically all of you probably don't have fevers I don't have a fever I kinda feel like c**p just because it's kinda painful but I've been taking things for it, but I'd advise you all to go to the doctor if it doesn't clear up within a few days sometimes these things turn into strep without even knowing it and strep is something you don't want to mess with.

Mine is messed up, i had a sore throat, it went away, and now it feels almost as if the one side of my throat is slightly swollen. WHen i eat and drink i have no pain, only if i yawn, stick my tongue out, or open my mouth real wide. It almost feels as if i have a tareing or ripping underneath the left part of my jaw.
It's freeking me out, im afraid to go to the doctor, i dont want it to be BAD.
it feels as if my hearing in my left ear has faded, and is a little soar when i swallow.
It was on my right side a while ago, itsn ow on my left. It only seems to hurt if i havnt talked for a while.

Hey.. yea i've got the same thing.. its really sore on my right side of my throght and also the back of my tougne.. its really bad in the morning, and its been affecting both my eating and my sleeping (cant do really do either) if any1 has been to a doctor, please let me kno :-)

I had the same thing last summer, my throat was hurting so bad on the left side only and later my ear started hurting too, it was this sharp pain in the ear from time to time. I went to see the doctor, he gave me antibiotics, after I started taking the antib. my throat imediatly got better, however after finishing the antibiodic my throat started hurting again. I went to the doctor and he gave me antibiotics again to take for another 2 weeks, my throat got better and I haven't had this problem until today, my throat started hurting again today on the left side, I will most likely see the doctor if it does not get better in the next few days. I also noticed a small lump behind my left ear that comes and goes, so I will defenetly have to get that checket out, it's starting to really scare me.

ok, well what everyone here is describing is CERTAINLY not a cold... I just recived the same symptoms as everyone else here recently and they've progressed rapidly to a unbearable state in the last hour. I think my wisdom teeth might be coming in, but I'd rather have cancer.

i have had exact same symptoms for 2 weeks now, i dealt with the pain for about 5 days until it was so bad i couldn't sleep. the next day i went to the doctor and got tested for strep throat and tonselitus, and results were negative -.- but my doctor said it woudl go away and acted liek it was just a normal soar throat. He told me to take ibeprophen for the pain, 600 mg every 6 hours and it would keep the swelling down, and it works very well no pain or swellign as long as i stick to takign it every 6 hours. But my tonsels contine to cause pain instantly if i stop taking the ibprophen, they swell and it hurts alot to swollow, cough drops dont help at all, and it travels to my right ear which begins to hurt badly as well, it used to be both tonsels, but now only the right side seams to be giving me the worst pain, and also only my right ear. i will make a return visit to the doctor this saterday if it doesn't go away. o ya and i have no cold symtoms, i had a cold about a month or so before i got this tonsel/gland problem.

To all that are worried about this, ive got exactly what youve all described. Went to see the doc today, he says he's seen plenty of this in the last few weeks, Its a infection, i had it in my throat and my left ear, he gave me some Azithromycin and told me not to worry it will clear up quickly. Stop worrying !!!!

I have the same thing...and on top of that I keep getting a viral pink eye. I guess the pink eye is associated with the "cold", but it is just one side of the throat and that same ear. My sinuses are draining horribly at night and I wake up with one side of my throat swollen and sore. I was thinking tonsilitus.
I went to the doctor a few weeks ago and they put me on amoxicillin....they told me it didn;t matter what it was that this would take care of it. Well, then it was BOTH sides of my throat and BOTH ears and it did help....but a few days after the antibiotics were gone it came back on one side. Ugh!!

i got treated for muscle pain in my neck for 3 months.. i see the doctor and hospital loads of times.. no1 could help me.. went to the dentist and it turned out to be infection.. 2 wisdom teeth need to come out and they give me antibiotics..

3/29/07 went to dr. today with many of the same symptoms. strep test was negative...no ear infection. said to take motrin for pain and swelling. i have no allergy symptoms and no drainage or mucous. pain woke me up last night. almost ready to call the dr. back for antibiotics
