I searched for the same symptoms in the net hoping to find something useful that I might apply or use.

This is bothering me. Whenever I burp it feels like a balloon pumped to my chest which makes me almost vomit.

Hello. Have any of you found out any reasons for the strange symptoms. I am having a sharp swallowing pain and weird pain when i´m about to burp. These have lasted for 6 months now and i´m desperate. Plz, post if any knowledge.

I have been having these pains and difficulties swallowing for years I also have severe heart burn which causes me to consume over a 100 tums a month. My doctor sent me for tests and I was told I have a hernia in my esophagus. It seems the pills dont work and its geeting worse by the day. Probablly dosent help that I cant afford to have the pills all the time.

I have these EXACT symptoms. I'm starting to get worried. I've tried Gaviscon and I'm currently on Lansoprazole but it doesn't seem to have any effect yet. Have you found out what's causing this? Please respond!

I have a pain in my chest when I swallow or belch...the only way I can explain it is that it feels either like I swallowed a toothpick and it is lodged somewhere low and every time something passes by it , it hits it and causes pain ....it takes about 2 seconds after I swallow for it to happen....or kind of like when I swallow or burp, a balloon suddenly opens up really quick and then quickly deflates causing me to stop what I am doing for a second and start to breath again...I am fine otherwise...I cannot eat without pain....it is quick sharp pain...I can drink uncarbonated drinks without pain but if I drink a soda, it hurts....I also constantly feel a lump in my throught...no pain there...it just bothers me. Any thoughts?

Thanks

I woke this morning with the same symptoms.

A heavy pain in the middle of my chest (under the chestplate), aggrevated when eating or drinking (solids aggrevate more) and sometimes with a heavy breath/yawn/cough (but only sometimes). The "lodged toothpick" feeling is a good analogy.

I've done a quick search of the conditions mentioned throughout this post (Barrett's esophagus, pinched nerves etc...) but none of them have the symptoms I am feeling. Definiately nothing reflux associated.

I have a feeling from my own medical knowledge that it may be a baterial infection of the lower esophagus of some description. But I am no doctor or medical expert.

The lack of reply once people have had various tests throughout this post leads me to believe that the condition is of no or little consequence. Alternatively that it is a condition that baffles medical professionals and no real cause is yet linked. None the less I'm am seeing my doctor this morning. If I learn anything further I will share it.

Yes I just found out I have Barretts Esophagus, and I started having pain in my chest & back when I swallowed food or drinks.
I cant even seem to get any sleep either, I hurt 24/7.
I have to have an Endoscope done next month to see if its cancerous & for any tumors. If you have any more info, please let me know.

Hi same problem here. Had egd done and all biopsys were negative. I get a pain as the air passes the "spot" I call it , and as food/drink passes. My egd showed no irritation but it did show som esophagus furrows but negative for EE or EoE. Im at wits end and have been dealing with this for 3months! I am begining to think maybe I have some inflamed Cartledge in the ribs closest to my esophagus under my right breast. I can swear this pain is in my esophagus but I need to start ruling out other possibilities. Please let me know if you can relate. Also I have no diagnosed Acid reflux or Gerd and no symptoms.
