og my god me too I got sick back in 2010 and still have it,I get alot of pain and nothing showes up:(
Sorry for the undiagnosed pain like you I had gallbladder removed 2 years ago still had ruq and pain under right shoulder blade.I had every test you could think of including mrcp, eus and ercp,I also thought it was costocondritis or slipping rib .Tired of dealing with local drs went to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore and they found I have sphincter of oddi dysfunction performed ERCP and found bile duct stricture and opened duct, after years of pain finally better.Did not try dancing under a full moon but it was on my list lol. Hope this is helpful keep us posted.
I have had severe pain on my right side usually rib cage area and shoulder blade. I walked around holding my right side for over a year. they checked my gall bladder and all my organs and could find nothing. I am a migraine sufferer and my neurologist told me that it sounds like migraine symptoms. I have started hormone replacement therapy and the pain completely subsides until the hormone wears off. Maybe this could be a simiular case even for men.
Just a thought.
carol,
I have had the same kind of pain for over 2 years and tried everything under the sun spent thousands of dollars on testing and doctors and medications. I just turned 50 and I finally ask my doctor to put me on hormone replacement treatment. The pain completly subsides as long as the hormones are in my system. I also have thyroid problems that play into this. My mother had the severe shoulder pain and buring for about a year and then she had a hysterectomy and they put her on hormone therapy and she never experienced the pain again. I still experience the pain in between doses so I am looking into the hormone implants because they keep your levels steady and last for 3 to 4 months. By the way you don't have to be 50 to need hormones. I started having hot flashes when I was 32.
It sounds like what I've been dealing with for 3 years. They have came to the conclusion that I have Somatic Dysfunction of the ribcage, in other words; my rib is twisted/stuck, so my lung is not able to open all the way, since my one rib won't move with the others. It's painful in my mid/upper back/under my scapula and a little in my sternum. I have trouble breathing out of the right side. Try balling up your fist, place it in different spots on the areas it hurts on your back, while rolling against the back of a chair, if you feel crackling, it could be the same issue, where you have slipping rib syndrome, or Somatic Dysfunction of the Ribcage.
If you had surgery of the abdomen, gas was pumped inside you to give the doctor room to operate. The gas does not all leave. It will travel to your lower back. I thought the doctor had pinched a nerve or cut something he should not have. I have experienced this both times I had surgery. The pain starts in your lower back and radiates out. I thought I was going crazy. It takes awhile for you body to absorb the gas. Hope this has helped
I am a nurse. I used to work in Endoscopy. You did not mention if you had an ERCP test done. This test is done to rule out pancreatic stones or other problems. Some people still have issues even after your gallbladder is removed
I had my gallbladder out in the summer of 2012 and the pain did linger for sometime and being able to eat to some as well.
I understand that it is very frustrating that no one can give you an answer. I would ask for a PET scan----whole body.
they will be able to see things that the other scans and cts and mris don't see.
good luck
I have had the exact same issues for almost 13 years now. Two right shoulder surgeries and no relief. Everything imaginable done including going to witch doctors and now relief at all. Literally about to driver me insane. I do have some bone spurs and typical arthritis I'm told and some scoliosis, but nobody can figure it out. I have probably spent $50k of my own funds trying to find a cure. At least 4 MRI's , Xrays, Ct Scans, Bone scans, you name it I have had it done. PT 3 times...Injection after injection all up and down my spine and neck area. So tight all the time I feel like a rubber band. Massage therapy over and over now relief. I agree anyone has some source for helping me I would have a really nice gift for you as well. Thanks
Sorry Realized some typos trying to do too many things at one time.
Hi - I could have written the same post. I have had all the tests you have had including a colonoscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound, stool samples, a vaginal ultrasound and more. I think we need to stick together. I have been unable to work in three weeks. It feels like someone shoved a tennis ball up under my ribs. The burning never goes away. The gastro doc wants to give me anto depressants. This is NOT depression! Do you have any further developments?
I know this post is old but it came up in my search and reading the answers were a little help so I'm posting my story too.
I am 23 weeks pregnant and about a month ago I started hurting under my right shoulder blade like a achy muscle. (Let me add I have had acis reflux disease for 10 years and take nothing for it so my coonstant heartburn and belching didn't poit me to anything). I thought it was just from doing too much but as time went on I noticed it was between 10-40 minutes after i ate and lasted between 30 minutes-3 hours. The pain got excrutiating in the past 5 days and it would always start under my right shoulder blade and then end up in my ribs under my breasts and under my left shoulder blade too. They did an ultrasound on my gallbladder and everything else and they came back and said I had a cluster of ulcers. They prescribed me 5 days worth of antacids and 10 days of antibiotics. This is the second day of taking both and I'm still hurting. It's no longer the burning AND aching pain because the atacids cut out my heart burn and ALOT but NOT all of the belching. Now it's just the ahiness starting under my right shoulder blade and ending up being almost all the way around.. everywhere but my spine. I don't know if any of yours could be ulcers but I read the antacids should STOP the pain but they aren't. I will be going back to the doctor if it persists past finishing the antibiotics. Good luck everyone.
Hi! i just posted my story below. I had the same problem but the burning seemed normal for me because I have had Acid Reflux for years untreated and I assumed that was what the burning was. But I started hurting under my right shoulder blade about a month ago and the past week it has became unbearable and everything pointed to my gallbladder. I went to the doctor and they did an ultrasound on EVERYTHING because i am also 23 weeks pregnant and they said I had a cluster of ulcers and ulcers will make you have a lot of the same symptoms as gallbladder malfunction. They sent me home with antacids and antibiotics and the antacids are supposed to stop the pain but the only stop the burning. I still am hurting under my right shoulder blade and then it persist all the way around under my breast on both sides and under both shoulder blades. I will be going back if the pain persists after finishing the antibiotics. Good Luck!
