I am glad im not alone with this one. I have been telling my cousin who is a registered nurse and happen to be diagnosed with endometriosis but she keeps saying its dysmenorrhea. The pain is unacceptable out of nowhere i will just have this SHARP pain from my bottom same time wit my stomach pain, its too painful that sometimes it makes me jump out of where im sitting. Been having it for awhile, I am 23 yrs old single never been checked by any gynecologist. I really need a straight answer what could it be??

Hey Girls! Amazing news... are you ready for this... two months in a row now I have had no pain, NO PAIN during my period. (In January I was practically suicidal). What did I do? I changed my eating habits, that is it. After reading the book "Eating Alive II", I decided to change my eating habits. I cut out sugar, wheat, alchohol, coffee, and chocolate from my diet. I started eating for the season -- since I live in the Mid-West, that means no salads or fruit (since its winter), and mostly have been eating cooked veg and white meat and fish. Ta-da! No pain! I am serious none. Its like a miracle.

I had gone to the women's clinic after my first post. The head doctor said it sounded like a classic case of Endometriosis -- but they would have to do the OP to really prove it. She suggested I talk to my regular Obgyn about it, and come back this spring for the laproscopy. I cannot wait to phone back and tell her that I do not need the operation.  I am thrilled.

So. It sounds drastic. But it is totally worth it! Give up the junk food -- and change your life for the better. In a nutshell: According to this book, we put on so much stress on our liver (and other organs) that they cannot work properly -- and thus build our own breeding ground for disease. Oh. I also take acidophilus, and saw a naturalpath who gave me homeopathic medicine for the liver.

Give it a try. Even after 4 weeks it made a difference. Let me know if it works for you!

Wow so many women suffer this, for me its like someone is shoving a hot poker up my butt when i sit down and like someone is tearing my insides out with barbed wire wrapped around a stick when i try to have a poo when on my period. I too thought i was the only one . went to gyno and his suggestion go on the pill o.0. Some months are worse than others i a have to agree with the lady who wrote about excerising helping i also found ponstan and naprogitic helped somewhat but didnt completely remove all pain

...I feel so scared to have a bowel movement during that 1st or 2nd day of my period because I too have this sharp stabbing pain. It is awlful! I have 2 kids and have never had this problem until after I had my last baby a year & 1/2 ago. Now my periods are much heavier and I get this pain. I wish there was an explanation for it. I heard that the birthcontrol pill might help, so I am going to look into that.

I had the SAME thing. (See earlier post). Once I changed my diet and started taking homeopathic drops for my liver I have no more pain! None. Zero. Try it! I saw results in the first month. (Eat no sugar, wheat, yeast, alchohol, chocolate, or coffee.) Oh. And start drinking green tea. You will be amazed you next cycle. And post your results! :)

I'm 19 and had the same problem! My periods aren't bad, but from the symptoms I've read I think I have endometriosis as well. Have you tried a birth control that does not allow you to have your period?

hey girls - me too! last night was the worst ever - i threw up twice from the pain and was lying on the floor in a cold sweat. Buscapan helps if I take them as soon as the pain starts but last night I thought i was going to die! all my tests have come back negative and today I was fobbed off with ''this is just period pain''. The day after these attacks I always feel bruised inside, even walking is painful. Anyone had a decent diagnosis other than endo? (my docs said scans showed no endo although not sure they checked bowel?)

This is going to sound strange but I had the most pain-free period this last time and what I did was: sit on my butt for a month and eat a lot of food-- ice cream, etc.

Typically, I try to eat healthier and exercise, but my period is always very painful-- just like what you're all describing. Nothing ever worked before. I thought my unhealthy lifestyle would contribute to the worst period ever, but, instead, I was delighted with the best.

So I'm thinking that it has something to do with stress.

I'm 16 and when I get my period I get extremely bad sharp pains in my lower stomach and in my bottom, at first I thought it was like poo cramps but now It only happens when I have my period. I've been seeing a gynecologist due to my bad periods - vomitting, passing out and all that and I had an ultra sound and she said I most likely didn't have enedemtiosis but I haven't told her about these pains. Ahh it's so frustrating !
