Oh my goodness, my nipples have been SO sore. I originally thought it was caused by friction from working out. I spent every night of the past week at the gym and my sports bra works hard to keep my size D girls in place. It hurt so bad that I've taken the weekend off but the pain has not subsided. It would be unusual for that to be my indication of pregnancy, and not a sickness or anything else. Google has not been helpful

sore nipples are very common in women who has started their cycle, in menopause, pre ovulation or pregnant. It is caused by a hormone change which is the increase in estrogen. A couple of days before you ovulate you might experience sore nipples and also during your cycle. Sore nipples does not always mean your are pregnant

I'm sad to see no one has gotten a solid answer to this popular issue. I'm 35 and am having the same issues. For the past two days my nipples have been extremely sore, as if someon has been sucking on them for hours. I had a full hysterectomy two years ago, so I know there's no way i'm pregnant and therefore, don't have the need for birth control; So I don't have a clue what could be the cause. I think perhaps it is a symptom of being turned on. They say guys get blue balls (meaning their nut sacks hurt; perhaps this is whats going on with us. Blue nipples. ijs.

Thanks Dear. I am not as worried as I was before reading all your post. My 23 year old Girlfriend has the problem. She also has a thyroid disorder which may have a lot to do with it. I also think that it may be due to the hormones that are given to cows and there milk ends up on our table.

Hi ladies, I know it may sound like a very personal question but for those of you that have a man or women in your life, if their is any licking of the nipple area it can cause a irritation that could work it's way up to an infection. Some paw paw cream, non cotton bra and some airing out should help. Other wise for those that don't want to change bras use a non stick anti abrasive wound pad on the area. I hope this information will help atleased a few of you,

to all the kids below 15 and haven't/ just got their period, this is NORMAL. your nipples will be tender cause you're developing; relax. I remember getting the same thing all the way from 10 to 16. if someone accidentally whacks you it can be very very painful so please wear bras!
