I too had this same issue. Tiny piece of skin dangling under my tongue with a white stub at the end. I do not encourage any one to do this but with tweezers and a razor I very carefully "snipped" it off. I rinsed my mouth out with mouth wash. There was like a drop of blood but the sensitivity was instantly gone.
I wouldn't recommend doing that at all - on the tongue is one of the main arteries of the body, and if you did that and caused bleeding to occur you may well bleed to death. Do not do what that guy did under any circumstances do not do it... i have the same problem and I'm going to leave it alone for a few days. If its still there then im going to the Doctors, however after a google search its most likely just a skin tag that is caused with friction of skin on another surface, e.g. bottom of your teeth. This type of this is associated with plica fimbriata. Google it for more information, and the best way to get rid of it is to have it Surgical removed, but if its a small tag they won't remove it and you will have to life with it. The pain will go away as the Doctors prescribe you something. Do not worry its nothing serious - but if you think its large and may be bitten of, them see a Doctor. But don't take anything from me, as im just like you, and a Doctor would be the best thing to do... :) hope this helps :)

Afterward, gargled with salt water, as is the usual recommendation with mouth wounds. Immediately less painful.
yea same here and exact discription, has to be from the alcohol and late nights because thats when mine came.
I have had a tongue covered with white for a couple of days now. A check of the under side of my tongue revealed some white little bumps and white creamy kind of fiilm on both under sides. This has been very painful for talking and eating. It also interfered with sleeping soundly. It came on quite suddenly out of the blue. A very red tongue underside covered with white indicates to me some kind of infection, perhaps candida albicans. I made a very strong disinfectant SALT MOUTH WASH and gargled some then spit it out. Then I filled my mouth really full of this salt solution and held it in my mouth for quite a few minutes. When I got too much saliva I spit it out and re-filled my mouth twice more. In just half an hour ALL of the white stuff under my tongue is now gone; so is almost all of the pain! The thick layer of white coating on the top of my is almost gone too. I plan to continue this treatment a number of times for a few of days until I am sure I am totally cured. THE CAUSE: I'm not totally sure but I have drunk some wine along with vodka and ginger-ale (high sugar) for the last few days. THE MEDICINE: 2 TEASPOONS TABLE SALT IN 2 CUPS OF WATER . Rinse and SOAK the tongue & mouth often throughout the day and especially at bed time. COST: Nearly nothing! DANGERS: NONE!
I am experiencing the same thing right now. It is red and looks like a skin tag under my tongue. I have gargled with hydrogen peroxide starting yesterday so it hasn't done any thing yet. I am in customer service so I talk to people all day. The tag rubs over my tooth so it is irritated all the time. I am going to try salt water gargle to see if i can expedite the healing process. Yeah I have a bump under my tongue too! Its longer than all of the other bumps on the bottom of my tongue. Can't I just cut it off? Its pretty annoying and i kinda wanna just get rid of it.
Hey, I did that when I was 8 and holy c**p it hurt like a sob, i wouldn't recommend doing it because it hurts for like a week, but I only did it to the right side, it started to bleed for like 2 min, and then stopped. Now im 15 and having problems with the left side.... its all red and sore to the touch.
kinda helps if u put ice on it for a while like let it melt in ur mouth and no u dont have cancer
i have had the same thing, sort of,,seems like a part of my kneck is swollen first, then sharp tingling under the tounge, then i looked at it and sort of squeezed it and it was a hard stream out of that vien,,gross,,had it a few times, and have no idea why
I have a similar thing where the sublingual fringe is a little sore but mainly the 2 tiny flaps near the tip end of the tongue. I consider it to be a link to stress as I received bad news only 3 days ago, the following day I woke with a very sore tongue. I'm seeing a doctor in few days so will try to update.
