I have the same feeling and I'm not worried because it started two days ago and now it's starting to hurt less so don't worry it will go away by itself one time I did that with my bum while I was riding my bike and it went away 3 days after
iv had the same issue for the past2 days but managed to rectify it personally. i basically got a hold of the thing between my finger and thumb and pulled it off! it hurt really bad when i pulled it, but no more than eating or catching it on my teeth. but when it came off it was INSTANT relief!!! no pain AT ALL!!! tiny amount of bleeding, a few drops maybe? under closer inspection the thing i pulled off, it appeared to be a tiny pouch of rather thin skin filled with blood (explaining the reddish colour). sort of like a blood blister hanging on a string i guess. i still have no idea of the cause or what it is though. i dont drink (like a few of you have mentioned) i havnt changed my toothbrush or toothpaste, im not currently stressed (that im aware of, i have been promoted lately but am rather enjoying my new position, so not stressful) i dont understand how something so small could cause so much pain and irritation? or how simply pulling it off could leave me pain free (i would have expected just as much pain until it healed but without risk of catching it on my teeth) i wouldnt advise pulling these weird growths off like i did (my methods of getting rid of things i dont like are a little unorthadox) as i dont currently know what the consequenses of doing so will be, i only did it around an hour ago. could have just made things a WHOLE lot worse in the long term? i will post on here again if the issue returns, if you dont here from me again..... then pulling these things off is the way forward i guess! :
Not having health insurance, my family has to pay cash whenever we go to the doctor or dentist, so I wasn't thrilled about the idea of paying $100 or more just to deal with this tiny painful tongue nub. So I got some Oragel, applied it to the nub for a few minutes until the pain was somewhat lessened (it also numbed my tongue and my bottom lip...oh, well). Then I took some sharp cuticle clippers and clipped the damn thing off. Immediately I rinsed my mouth with warm salt water, and now after only 10-15 minutes, the relief is significant. The whole reason why it was there was because of it rubbing up against my bottom teeth, so now that it's gone, there shouldn't be another problem (at least not from that side!).
Many thanks to the folks who also chronicled their "do-it-yourself surgery". I saved much time and money dealing with it at home, and wouldn't have done so except that you all had successful experiences. Thanks again!!!
I think I have the same thing and for the same reason, catching on my teeth while coughing. I'm too scared to nip it off but too scared to go to the dentist.
I just turned 21 and have been drinking alot lately and have the same thing everyone here seems to have Lol..
I also have 1 of these, had 1 before and when the pain went played about with it and it eventually fell off, sorry if that sounds horrible. this time it is reallyyyyyy painful, affecting my speach eating coughing etc aghhhhh
I just experienced one of these. It was a tag of sorts with a white tip attached to it, similar to what the original post described. Mine was truly a tag and was loose hanging off of the tongue. Obviously not long, but a few mm off the tongue. Anyway, mine was on the back side of my tongue, like all the way to the back close to my last molar and almost on the underside of my tongue. I got some gauze and used it to grab my tongue and hold it out of the way so I could really see it and with my other hand I had taken another small piece of gauze and wrapped it around my index finger and started rubbing the tag. It didn't hurt at all and the white surrounding the tip came right off and all that was left was a red, slightly inflamed, little nub. No blood or anything came out of it. Mine was really hard to even see because of how far back and to the side it was and since it wasn't really being disturbed so far back there and almost on the underside of my tongue I didn't really notice it but I swear there was a distinct taste in my mouth from it. Ugh, it was so gross. It was the sore/strep throat kind of taste (I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about) so I'm guessing that white tip was full of bacteria. Hopefully mine doesn't come back but I can tell you one thing, that god awful taste was instantly gone!
